Default Noticing the loss

now its getting colder i am really noticing the loss in my body weight, is anyone else really feeling the cold like ten times worse than they did this time last year? I never thought this would impact me a much as it is. But still, there is NO WAY im going to put the weight back on in the favour of keeping warm! I can always add more layers!

When I lost almost 30 lbs before, (before regaining it back) I did feel the cold more than I do now. Especially in the hands and feet. Right now, others get cold sooner or more easily than I do. I guess the fat is good insulation. Good for winter, not so much for summer

I plan on working on my body throughout the winter so when summer rolls around, I won't feel like I'm cooking within my own skin.

Even though I'm from the great north, and can withstand the coldest tempatures known to man, I am noticing it. Like today is 4 degrees, and I used to LOVE when it was under 10 degrees, it was my favourite type of weather. now I get really cold under 10 degrees. I thought it was all in my head, apparently I'm not alone, others are also noticing the tempature difference
But I'm not complaining, I don't like being hot. At all.

LOL it's so funny that you would bring this up; I've been thinking about this for the past few weeks and wondering if I was going crazy... Because yes, I totally feel like I get cold way more easily than I did at this time last year! Lately I feel like I'm always cold, hehe. Last year I lasted until Thanksgiving or so without a proper winter jacket, just using a zip-up hoodie for warmth... Now I already feel like I need to start pulling out my winter jacket, and it's only October! It kinda makes sense if you think about it, though--it's like I've shed a big layer of blubber that always kept me warm before. But like you said, it's definitely NOT worth it to stay heavier just so I can stay warm, hehe. And like AmberShimmer said, hopefully that will mean that I'll sweat less when summer rolls around (because when it's warm I feel like I'm always sweaty... I'd love for that to stop!). Hooray for fewer sweat marks on my shirts! Hehe.

It really doesn't bother me, though--I love noticing the ways losing weight has made my body experience things differently. It's like noticing that I can walk up stairs more easily than I could before... Almost like an NSV in some ways, LOL.

FOUR DEGREES!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!????

...it's 61 here and i'm wearing a sweater and contemplating turning the heat on tonite. LoL!

I used to be more cold tolerant tolerant but five years in southeastern Virginia has really spoiled me. It doesn't even get into the 50's consistently until December around here and I think the coldest it's ever gotten since i've been here is 25 degrees and I was whining and carrying on like a baby. I went back home to STL to visit my mom last Christmas and thought I was going to *die.*

I'm intolerable to cold weather just due to the fact that i've got arthritis in my rickety knees and ankles, but now that you mention it I am feeling it a lot more. My feet and arms are always freezing, and I had to raise my comfort temp on the thermostat to 78 degrees.

I haven't had the chance to notice it so much yet. I do notice it when I am in a lounge at school that I never used to be cold in now I pretty much freeze everyday. Where I live we could use the AC and the heat all in the same day. For instance a day this week it got to 83 and our low was 50. I can not wait until it gets cold though I love winter, I am knitting a bunch of hats and scarves. weeeeee!

However, now that I have lost some weight none of my winter clothes fit anymore. I am slightly sad I have a jacket that I wore last winter that I loooooove and I cant wear this year because I am too little. I am trying to find ways to take out about 4-5 inches of fabric so I can wear it. But yay that I don't fit into the clothes I wore last year.

The only good thing about putting on weight - you feel the cold less. I'm a very shiver-prone person so it was an advantage for me (but not a good reason to want to stay on that weight!). But now I feel the cold again... even as I type this I am shivering. I need to find more sweaters somewhere.

Oh my, before when I had lost 40 lbs I was FREEZING all the time. I felt like I could not get warm enough. But then.. I gained it back. I had never realized how much of an impact my own personal insulation had on my temp before, but it really makes a huge difference.

In Canada, they measure temperature by Celsius, not Fahreheit. So 4 degrees is roughly (estimated) close to 38 degrees.

It's colder today up in Mass.....right now it's 45 degrees and my fingers, feet, and nose is frozen!! I am wearing three layers of shirts to try to keep warm! haha I never had to do that before!!! I used to be warm all the time...now, I'm always so cold.

Okay. 38 is a little less shocking, but that's still way too cold for me! I would throw a fit if I was where you are too though. LoL!

I'm always cold. I have learned to keep lots of blankets around and dress in lots of layers. And no I would never put weight on to stay warm, I would rather be freezing 24/7!!!

SHERRI:

Honey, where are you? It was 4 degrees (38 F for you American folks!) here today as well. Methinks you may be nearby. Anywhere around Guelph, are ya? (If you don't mind posting in a public forum, you can PM me if you'd prefer!!!)

Also, it's dipping into the negatives tonight, I think we're gonna be hitting our first snowfall in the VERY near future.

...I think I've always had cold feet... though I bet the weight loss won't be helping in terms of feeling even colder than usual!
