  • UGH!

I quit smoking 2 days ago - TOM started today - and I am craving chocolate.

  • This weekend I was pretty bad. I had my 13-year-old cousin come stay with us, but we had to drive 2 hours to pick her up due to some car issues I won't waste your time with. But anyway, there was McDonalds for breakfast, Steak n' Shake for lunch and Cheesecake factory for dinner. Then the next day for lunch was Chipolte. It's amazing how having guests over gives your diet the 1-2 punch!

But I'm back on today and I am happy because at least I managed to have NO POP over the weekend. I think I am a week now with no pop. Yay!

I did get a swim cap and goggles last week and yesterday was my second lap swim. I can't swim very well or very fast, though, and this guy got into the pool and he was all muscular and his lap time was about 1/4 of mine. I definately felt stupid then, but I really feel the difference in my arms and back. I just need to keep at it even though I swim like a dork! I won't get any better at it if I stop, right??

HereWeGoAgain - Yeah...roomates can stink! My roommates my junior year told me that as well - but not about the veggies! Luckily (or unluckily??) I contracted mono from the US Army Reserves - that's a whole 'nother story in itself!! - and had to separate my food from theirs to avoid giving it to them. So, I got a mini fridge and kept most everything in my room for the rest of the year. It was nice dealing with them less. They were psycho!
  • Taylor - sorry you feel so awful. But you're doing great

Heideline - did you enjoy it?

Thanks everybody for the nice welcome. I'm trying to stay positive about the weight loss because I'm been stuck at 157 for about a week and a half. So today I inquired into a gym membership & tomorrow I'm going to ring up for an induction. I'm petrified..for one thing I'll be by myself but I have no idea what to expect and am slightly worried I'll be the only overweight person there? Eeep!

Wow if you can make it through today you should buy yourself a superwoman costume and wear it everywhere!
  • Hey all,

I had an amazing weekend, tons of fun but I ate wayyyy to much. Out for dinner friday night, on saturday my bf cooked an amazing dinner with dessert (blackened chicken with bbq'd aspagus and roasted potatos followed by roasted strawberries with vanilla ice cream and angle food cake - I was very impressed!), then my baby cousins first bday party on sunday.

We went to cirque du soleil on saturday night. OMG it was amazing! The way they move their bodies the arms on some of those chicks... WOW! It was the first time in a while that my bf actually was relaxed and actually smiling a truely genuine smile (he's been having some serious issues at work and his dad's health isn't so good). Just seeing that made the preformace that much better.

Hopefully, I'll get back on track this week. My bf and I are having a bbq at my place on friday, which should be interesting since I live in a town house and dont' have a back yard...just an itty-bitty little patio. Oh well, it will be still be fun. I'm hoping that if I'm really good all this week I can splurge a little at the bbq. My inner marth stewart is totally coming out. I love to cook and entertain. Got to do some serious house cleaning before though!

I'm hoping to start the C25K this week. I'd love to run 5k on my 25th bday which is at the end of october. That's the goal I've set for myself - a 5k and down 13 pounds by oct 21st. Think it's possible?

Spoz Welcome to the group. We're more than happy to have you around here. Happy early Birthday!

Cat's good to see you around here again. A good friend of mine has done tree planting for the last couple of summers and just loves it.

Bella I'm totally dealing with the big life questions right now too. I'm just try to keep busy to I don't have to think about them to much.

Here we go again & Heidelene Roommate can be such a pain i the a$$! I had a psycho roommate at university. She called my mom on the other side of the country to let her know that I hadn't been home for 2 days. (I'd been crashing at a friend's place while we finished a project). She wanted my mom to know that perhaps, if I had been raised better I wouldn't be running all over town doing who know's what. My roommates used to get frustrated wth me b/c my mom would also send me back to school with tons and tons of premade food and I'd take up all the freezer space. I wound up buying my on mini freezer and keeping it inthe basement.

Hey Spoz -- Most gyms have a few sessions of showing you how to use the equipment and maybe even some personal trainer sessions. And if you aren't sure how something works, I usually would just watch a few other people use it. Most of the machines are either self explanatory or have a little picture step-by-step. I recommend bringing an ipod or the like to the gym. That way you have some great tunes to motivate you, and you can be off in your own world not having to deal with anyone else.

Both gyms that I belonged to had a range of every different type of person, young/old, big/small, great shape/just starting out. And no one (except maybe myself) ever made me feel any less than welcome. It is so awesome you are doing this! You'll do great!

Trust me - you will NOT be the heaviest person at the gym.

And did I enjoy contracting Mono? HECK YEAH!

That was my biggest worry too! When i joined my gym, they were like "do you have any questions? concerns?" and i told them i had never joined a gym before because i was scared it was full of skinny fit people. They laughed (not unkindly) and were like "oh no, not at all!" and they were right. Well, of course there are fit people there, but there are plenty of people who are like me/us, just trying to work out and lose weight

Well, i had a good weekend, happy with my loss. But last night i had the worst nights sleep, my skin was so itchy it was keeping me up, driving me nuts. Then when i finally fell asleep my phone alarm didnt go off this morning, because i had left my phone on silent! Blah im losing it >.<
  • Hey All! Well, it feels good to post this finally, but I'm under 200! I worked out a lot last week, and spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the pool (summer fades fast in Northeast Ohio..gotta make the most of it!) Needless to say, I'm feeling good, it's a nice boost of confidence, and the motivation I need to keep movin' along. Yay!
  • I'm bored! Only 14 minutes til I'm done work....but it feels like forever. I just wanna go home.
  • Hey y'all.... Can I just say that I've had a crazy day! We had an ex employee come in today and file a worker's comp claim from a month ago.... It's so frustrating when people lie and she said it happened on a day that she called in sick. I was like are you crazy?!?!?!?!

I'm so glad I'm going to work out today b/c this woman really made my day stressful. It took me two hours digging up all the proof to fight this thing and getting signed statements.... uggggh!
  • That's awesome Mango!!!!! Way to go!

Way to go! You inspire me - I cannot wait to get back under 200!
  • That's great, Mango! I'll do a happy dance in your honor...

I've got two hours and its dragging and dragging and our patient load is minimal today. I wish we could have an "everybody is healthy" afternoon and go home

OMG, hello dip s*** alert! Lol, I have patients that want to file WC claims all the time and I have to explain to them the level of paperwork involved and the fact that their injury isn't consistent with one sustained on the job and I won't sign that it is (especially the ones that brag about the awesome ski trip they just got back from and oh, they strained their back filing at the office two weeks ago and need to do a claim now...after a ski trip...ya...not falling for it). People actually try and talk me into breaking the law for them! I'm like, "Hey, I wouldn't even do that for my mama, what makes you think I'd do it for you?"

So, Here We Go Again, are you in HR then?
