Default Rehydration

So im seriously dehydrated, and my skin is so sore and dry its cracking on my thighs arrgg! I have moisturiser, but i need to hydrate from the inside too. How much water does a "normal" person drink a day? I've been trying to drink about 3 pump bottles, which comes to about 2.25 litres. Is this even close to how much i should be having daily? Bearing in mind that it is winter here...

Thanks in advance

2.25 liters sounds just right! I'd post a great link to an article, but I can't since I'm new, so here's a chunk from it:

"Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. For your body to function properly, you must replenish its water supply by consuming beverages and foods that contain water.

Several approaches attempt to approximate water needs for the average, healthy adult living in a temperate climate.

* Replacement approach. The average urine output for adults is about 1.5 liters (6.3 cups) a day. You lose close to an additional liter of water a day through breathing, sweating and bowel movements. Food usually accounts for 20 percent of your total fluid intake, so if you consume 2 liters of water or other beverages a day (a little more than 8 cups) along with your normal diet, you will typically replace the lost fluids.

* Eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Another approach to water intake is the "8 x 8 rule" — drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day (about 1.9 liters). The rule could also be stated, "drink eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid a day," as all fluids count toward the daily total. Though the approach isn't supported by scientific evidence, many people use this basic rule as a guideline for how much water and other fluids to drink.

* Dietary recommendations. The Institute of Medicine advises that men consume roughly 3 liters (about 13 cups) of total beverages a day and women consume 2.2 liters (about 9 cups) of total beverages a day."

yup I think 2 liters / day is what normal people need. But keep in mind that not everyone is the same. So there are people that their body requires more water than the other. The easy way to tell if your body needs more water is by looking at your pee's color, the darker yellow the color, the more water you'll need. Keep it around light yellow to transparent color

For losing weigh, from all my friends on my other forum, upping the water REALLY helps. Most of them drink 1-2 gallons a day. I drink 1 a day and found it helped me a lot.... weight loss, clear skin, happier overall with my body.

Apparently it's 3.78 litres! I would have thought that 2 gallons a day would be a bit excessive...that's about 7.5 litres.

Also keep in mind that it is winter and your skin tends to dry out in the winter time. Sounds weird, but i would use lotion that made for dry, cracked and calloused feet. It works very well

yeah i have noticed that too! Maybe because you've got a lot of wind, but its cold too, so things tend to chap? And you havent got the humidity in the air...My body butter arrived yesterday yahoo, but the lotion for cracked feet is actually really good now that i think about it. Who would have thought it?
