HAHAHAH Like I said, I dream a LOT about the ocean. I know its the ocean, but the waves always look very geometric. I wish I could play my dreams on a TV like a movie to explain it. It's just weird.
I tend to have very vivid apocalyptic dreams as well. Why? Who the heck knows.
And just off the wall bizarre dreams. For instance:
I had a dream that my parents and I were somewhere in South America trying to visit family. You couldn't get there by plane, so we went as far as we could until we had to travel by foot. We were reading the map and in an attempt to find our bearings, I climbed up a HUGE tree (hahah yeah right!) and out from the middle of the rain forest, I saw an open field, with DANCING PANDAS.
Yeahhhh... it was way more detailed than that, but I'm not going to get into all of it. Just a small piece from the crazy corners of my mind!
Oh, yeah, I have very vivid dreams too. The "bad" ones are usually the ones that leave me feeling funny for days or weeks. The good ones don't normally affect me that way.
I dream a lot about swimming, especially when I've been drinking. My ex-bf used to freak out and wake me up because I'd stop breathing...it didn't help to explain to him that I'd start breathing again when I came up for air. I never thought about it, but maybe that's because I'm a water sign too?
When I was in college I always dreamed that I was a secret agent. I still remember one dream where I was infiltrating a secret Chinese laboratory...where all the Chinese spoke Spanish! Very odd. I always fought like Jackie Chan though...very fun dreams!!! I'm sure they were some kind of stress relief from all the studying, but I wish I had them still, they were so much fun!
Kate, I've also had nightmares where I die...usually murdered. Those are the ones that it's hardest to wake up from. And those are also the ones that creep me out for days on end.
Lately I've been having apocalyptic/end of the world dreams. One was very odd...we were being attacked by another country. They sent this very weird doomsday bomb that looked like a gigantic, flying can and it hovered over the city. I woke up before it went off, but when I did wake up I had to go look out the window, because the dream felt so real!
I have some ridiculous dreams. I really don't think they mean anything, but they're fun to remember. I think the most common ones are flying dreams, but rather than zooming around high above the earth, I'm usually floating about a foot off the ground moving at a snails pace. I also dream a lot about driving, where I can't seem to keep my mind on the task and nearly rear end the car in front of me time after time. Yuck. Most of my dreams are actually pretty disjointed and don't really flow like a story, just scraps of random imagery and plot all shoveled together into a big mess. I think sometimes they'll be on a loop almost, I recall one dream where I repeatedly attempted to board a bus that drove off as I was getting on and took my arm with it, just over and over, grab the railing and the bus takes off with my arm. It's like some portion of my logic was awake enough to say 'wait wait...that wasn't right, lets try that again'...weird. I had a lucid dream only once, where I was aware I was dreaming, but my attempts to change the dream did not work at all. I was locked in a castle, and no bit of willpower was able to turn that into a private beach with Butch Walker :P Someday...
I have to agree that dreaming about ex's has to be the most annoying thing ever. I have no emotional connections to the past other than a swift kick to my own behind once in a while but every so often an ex pops into a dream and leaves me feeling just weird. bugger. would think that after a few years it would finally pass.
Oh, and although 99.9% of my dreams are funny/happy/ridiculous, I have a nightmare from my childhood about demon My Little Pony's. full size with red eyes. Playing tag. Odd.
Apple- sometimes I realize I am dreaming and can control my dreams too. It can be neat, but sometimes it throws me off, and I end up doing normal everyday things in those dreams. I guess I am on the very edge of waking when that happens because if I concentrate to hard I will wake up too. I remember learning about 10% of people can do that.
One weird thing that happens to me sometimes when I am dreaming is I will become aware that my body is paralyzed. The dream also involves me laying were I am sleeping, and a bunch of people coming in and doing stuff that happens in dreams, and I cannot say anything or move a muscle. It always freaks me out. I know our body's are paralyzed during REM sleep, but I am not thinking about that when I dream.
Most of the time I do not dream like about, just about a bunch of random stuff put into a loose story line that really does not makes sense. But I love dreams. I hate having to wake by alarm because I never remember them that way.
