I live around the Roanoke area. I've been to Richmond (my friend went to VCU) but never been to VA Beach or Chesapeake. I've also been to Charlottesville...my hubby is a HUGE Hoos fan, but I have to say, I'm a Tech fan
I lived in Norfolk for 6 years when I was a kid, actually... I have pretty fond memories of it except for the time when my bike got stolen! I went to Short Pump once last summer, it sure is better shopping than anything in Charlottesville :/

Chesapeake is alright, same with Virginia Beach. VaBeach gets played out quickly if you are there for tourist season...you can't go anywhere on the highways during the summer! hehe

I haven't been to Charlottesville, but I will take your word for it
Ok now, I'm looking for advice as to what diets work and which don't. I have already tried Atkins (lost a ton of weight, gained it all back super fast plus it raised my cholesterol very high), Slim Fast ( i always felt hungry), Nutrisystem (it worked for wahile, went off 3 days and gained half the weight back..long story), Mediterranean Diet (actually works well but too much cooking for my liking haha) and I've tried just eating healthy on my own for example lean meats, not too many carbs or starches, watching sweets bla bla bla. I only want to lose 20 lbs....but it's hard to get off because when you only have a little to lose your body doesn't want to let it go. I want it gone!! grrrr.....so give it to me people!
I have been counting calories and exercising at least 3 or 4 times a week. I am also making sure I get plenty of sugar-free liquids(mostly water or the flavored stuff you put in the water). I had a problem with water weight and drinking the water helped A LOT.
I am new to this area of the website also...but I have been doing South Beach. I have done Weight Watchers, Somersizing, Body for Life, Calorie counting, and Atkins. I find South Beach is the best and easiest, for me. I don’t feel as restricted as Atkins and can have the grains. I also feel better eating this way as oppose to weight watchers. Sorry for anyone doing that...it just didn’t work for me. I found I would not eat very much during the day and save my points to eat JUNK! Not good for me. I don’t think any one specific plan is the best...it just depends on the person. Hope you find a plan that works for you!
i posted a new thread with a catchier title to try and encourage more people, which will make more fun! join me over there if you'd like, I'd love the company!
it's titled "show me that bikini body!!" (I can't post links until i post 25 messages lol SO ******ed!)
