Hi all,
I'll give it in a nutshell because you all probably are all too familiar with my story anyway -- compulsive eater, my weight fluctuates with my stress level. Eating leads to guilt leads to more eating leads to guilt...you get the picture. Reading my personal diaries is like a walk through the Guggenheim: "Ugh, I'm so depressed and I suck so much..." to "Tomorrow, I'm gonna start exercising again! And NO SUGAR! Yeah!" to "What a great day today! I ran a mile, did a yoga class, and I ate great!" Then, there is typically a long time until the next entry, which basically starts again at the beginning.
This cycle is tiresome.
So now it's a bad time (as I write, I have a box of lo mein sitting next to me), and I guess I'm ready to shed this new weight I've put onto myself. I am hoping that the connections I might make in this cyberworld will be the thing that makes this time different...
And that's my shpiel. How is everyone else??

oh and also, can anyone explain to me how i get one of those little tickers at the bottom?

There are alot of us here who are like you and have been (or still are) start-stoppers. But, the greatest thing is that no matter how many times one has failed--- there is always the chance to succeed just waiting!

Sure! There are several ways to do this. One way is to go into your pm box (at the top right hand corner of your screen) and click it. From there on the side bar click on edit signature. From there you can see a big ticker and can click on how you can get one.

Hey there Sonja
I could really relate to what you wrote. I am about 1 inch shorter than you (and much older) with the same weight stats (although I am post binge now and afraid to weigh myself so I could be up a lot). I struggle with the binge/compulsive eating thing and I even eat the same binge type foods - lo mein, etc. I wish I had the answer for you. I guess my only advice is to keep going and do not let one bad food day turn into 2 and then 3. That is a huge cycle I have. Anyway, hang in there

haha that is pretty funny, I am definitely in that "afraid to weigh" stage (I guessed my weight for the site). <sigh>
