Default ~Motivational Quotes~

I dunno about anyone else, but I love quotes.

I'm just starting out, and I'd like to share with you some of the quotes I have found to use as motivation. Please feel free to reply with any quotes you have found.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

You may delay, but time will not.

You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.

You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality.

You've got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It's called perseverance.

Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places.

The world of achievement has always belonged to the optimist.

We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity. The soul must see through these eyes alone, and if they are dim, the whole world is clouded.

That which is bitter to endure may be sweet to remember.

Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.

If you don't do what's best for your body, you're the one who comes up on the short end.

Instead of giving myself reasons why I can't, I give myself reasons why I can.

It's not whether you get knocked down; it's whether you get up.

Go into something and stay with it until you like it. You can't like it until you obtain expertise in that work. And once you are an expert, it's a pleasure.

Your body is the baggage you must carry through life. The more excess the baggage, the shorter the trip.

Never, never, never quit.

Victory belongs to the most persevering.

I shall shape my future.
Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own.
I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me.
Or I can be lost in the maze.
My choice. My responsbility.
Win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny.

Good choices come from experience. Experience comes from bad choices.

There are two choices really.
You can either surrender to the pressures of life and the struggles of this particular battle....
or you continue the fight...and do so with even more vengence and determination to reach your goals then you did before.
I choose the fight.....I know what it will get me.

The harder you fall, the higher you bounce

One of the secrets of life is learning to make stepping stones out of stumbling blocks.

Above all, challenge yourself. You may be surprised by what you can achieve.

Heroes are made in the hour of defeat. Success is, therefore, well described as a series of glorious defeats.

And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more.

Success is not a doorway, it's a staircase.

Focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear.

Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen, but give us the determination to make the right things happen.

The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

There is no one giant step that does it. It's a lot of little steps.

The only one who can stop me....is me,
...and I can take her!

Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward.

The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win.

The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.

Failure is not fatal; failing to change will be.

Men succeed when they realize that their failures are the preparation for their victories.

How many a man has thrown up his hands at a time when a little more effort, a little more patience would have achieved success?

To be successful, you must decide exactly what you want to accomplish, then resolve to pay the price to get it.

Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.

Never stand begging for what you have the power to earn.

Success is the proper utilization of failure.

A man is not finished when he is defeated. He is finished when he quits.

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

Far better it is to dare mighty things to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered with failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that know not victory or defeat.

There are no great people in this world, only great challenges which ordinary people rise to meet.

Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, this time more wisely.

Small deeds done are better than great deeds planned.

What would you attempt to do if you knew you would not fail?

Losers visualize the penalties of failure. Winners visualize the rewards of success.

Success is not a race, be patient.
Success leads to success.
Success is always a work in progress.
Success doesn't come to you--you go to it.
Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process.
Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it.
Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying.
Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED!
If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world.

I wake up every day with the realization that this is it, that there's only one shot at this life and I can either enjoy the ride and live it to its fullest and to my highest potential or I can stay the way I am.

Make the decision, then do something - no matter how small - toward accomplishing what you want.

Your past does not equal, nor does it dictate, your future.

The definition of insanity: Doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different result.

Be specific in what you want, and use specific words. Empower yourself, and become the person you dream about.

Listen closely: the only time it's too late to change yourself is when you're dead. Until then, you're simply making excuses or lying to yourself.

You won't fail if you're not perfect, you'll fail if you're not committed to improving yourself slightly each day.

Rather than aiming for being perfect, just aim to be little bit better today than you were yesterday.

We can reverse years of damage to our bodies by deciding to raise our standards for ourselves, then living differently. Old wounds heal, injuries repair, and the whole system improves with just a few changes in what we put into our bodies and how we move them.

Anything is possible, It's your choice whether or not you choose to make IT happen.

Discipline is remembering what you want.

If we defend our habits, we have no intentions of quitting them.

When one approach is not working to reach the desired goal, that's not a reason to abandon the goal. Instead, it is time to devise another approach.

If you want what you do not have, you must do what you have not done.

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.

It's not about how good you are but how bad you want it.

Food for Thought: The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Strengthen Your Desire! Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.

Your body keeps an accurate journal regardless of what you write down.

Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future.

He who gets up one more time than he falls, makes it through.

Quitting is NOT an option.

Start doing what's necessary, then do what's possible, and suddenly you'll be doing the impossible!

My life tomorrow will be the result of my attitudes and the choices I make today.

In this age, which believes that there is a shortcut to everything, the greatest lesson to be learned is that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest!

My world is expanding as my butt is shrinking!

Don't sacrifice your future for a momentary pleasure

Never give up on a dream just because of the length of time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.

A year from now, you may wish you had started today.

If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you
always got.

Never trade what you want the most for what you want at the moment.

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream;
not only plan, but also believe.

Great changes may not happen right away, but with effort even the
difficult may become easy.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every
time we fall.

The greatest thing you have is the 24 hours in front
of you.
The past is gone; the future is distant.
Today you CAN succeed.
Set a goal you can achieve in the next 24 hours.

Only those who risk going too far can
possibly find out how far one can go...

The fishermen know the sea is dangerous and the storms are
terrible, but they have never found this sufficient reason to remain
on shore.

"Obstacles are what we see when we take our eyes off the goal."

The odds of hitting a target go up dramatically when you aim at
it.

Things that seem hard are not always that hard. Put one foot in
front of the other, and you'll get to the end.

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your Destiny.

When you name your fear you can face it.
When you face it you can defeat it!

Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles; it empties today of its strength.

You must act as if it is impossible to fail.

The road to someday, leads to the town of nowhere. Procrastination is the silent killer.

Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.

When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.

That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do; not that the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our power to do is increased.

Success is not a place that we aspire to, it is a process in which we live by. Often the only ingredient being the ability to not quit.

Read over these whenever you need a little motivation...it always helps me.

I love quotes too!

One of my favorite is the one in my signature "It's better to be hated for who you are then loved for who your not.

A couple more are:
"God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference."

"Failure to plan is planning to fail" - Unknown

"You never know what you can do until you have to do it." - Betty Ford

"I have no money, no resources, no hopes. I am the happiest man alive." - Henry Miller

Wooo! That's a heckuva lotta quotes! And I've only seen one or two of them before! Awesome

I'll copy and paste some of my faves from my "Quotes" document...

Weight is just a reaction to lifestyle, and while it can be manipulated a bit in the short term, in the end, your lifestyle shows. – wndranne 3FC

Diets make you look good in clothes, exercising makes you look good naked. - unknown

I know I’m gonna die, so my revenge is living well! – Robbie Williams

Hello temptation, how are you today? – John P Hussman PhD

If you love the results, learn to love the process – Mel 3FC

For about 30 years, I've seen and waved to the same man running along the road near where I grew up. He must be in his 80s now. I've seen him shopping a few times, and he can barely walk now. He positively totters. But when he runs, he flies. There's joy there. – ellis 3FC

Always remember: An instant's satisfaction can lead to an age of regret.

Happiness isn't getting what you want, it's wanting what you've got.

You’ll never achieve extraordinary results by taking average measures – Skwigg

The moral of the story is MAKE MUSCLE! Being a scared little scale-watching girly-girl dieter won't get you very far. Eat to make muscle, and train your guts out! – Skwigg

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. - Aristotle

Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow. - Doug Firebaugh

Set your goals high, and don't stop till you get there. - Bo Jackson

Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it is not happening. Sometimes you might be improving your health in less visible ways. - Jeremy Likness

squint your eyes and look closer
i'm not between you and your ambition
i am a poster girl with no poster
i am thirty-two flavors and then some
and i'm beyond your peripheral vision
so you might want to turn your head
cause someday you might find you're starving
and eating all of the words you said"-Ani DiFranco

Hard work does pay off, harder work pays off even more – Tom Holland

I'm going to get hit, hurt, and taken down no matter what, so I may as well... win! That one thought caused me to totally relax and focus. Do you know when you're not getting hit in a fight? When you're the one landing the punches and your opponent is the one backing up and protecting their head. Neato! – Skwqiggly!

Here's what has finally (possibly?) penetrated my thick skull. Emotional eating is the devil's lunchbox. As long as you eat for comfort, entertainment, celebration, relaxation, you'll always struggle with your fitness goals. You'll choke on your Cheetos, fall flat on your face, and other competitors will use you for traction. Then you might get up, dust yourself off, stumble a few feet, and spot a glazed donut. Next thing you know, you're face down in the dirt again and all around you, people are strutting around in bikinis and buying smaller jeans. – More Skwiggly

Great spirits have always encountered opposition from mediocre minds. The mediocre mind is incapable of understanding the man who refuses to bow blindly to conventional prejudices and chooses instead to express his opinions courageously and honestly.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

"It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop." —Confucius

"I'm allergic to food. Every time I eat it breaks out into fat." ~Jennifer Greene Duncan

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes it’s the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow."

"If you really want to lose, you'll find a way, and if you don't want to, you'll find an excuse. It's up to you."

The grass isn't greener in your neighbor's yard. It's greener in your own yard when you water it!

Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Data from the National Weight Control Registry shows that successful maintainers practice their eating and exercise behaviors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Taking days, weekends, whole weeks, or the holiday season off is associated with weight regain. Them's the facts, folks.

I hate discipline but I love results! - Jack La Lanne

"Life may not be the party we hoped for ... but while we are here we might as well dance!"

Do or do not, there is no try – Yoda

“I’ve had a fanciful sufficiency of gastronomical saiety. Any further indulgence would be superfluous!”

You are the only you that you will ever get. What you decide to do with you is up to you. Tomorrow you will still be you. The question is whether you will move closer to who you want to be today.
