I decided not to do my long run yesterday, and to have a rest day instead then do it today. So I finished a bit short last month, but I expected that. i've made a good start to the new month though:
14.4/125
125 per month works out at 1500 for the year, with my end of June total at 750. As of this morning I'm well ahead of that, at 840.7.
Way to go, Helen! I wish I was close to my half-way goal! I want to have 900 walking miles for 2007, which would mean 450 by yesterday. I'm at 400, so I have some catching up to do!
I've had a couple of rough months as far as fitness is concerned. May was the end of the school year and moving our ENTIRE building to out new high school. June was preparing for and then taking a group of 14 high school students to Spain for 12 days. I got back on the 26th and have been easing my way back into walking for fitness. Now, I'm ready for July and some BIG walking mileage!
I'm going to set my goal at 65 miles, though I hope to exceed that. I just don't want to set myself up for failure when I'm just getting back into it!
I set my goal too low last month, because I ended up nearly 30 miles over! I wasn't sure if my training schedule for the half marathon was going to be too demanding. According to the schedule, I'll do over 100 miles in July, so I'll set 110 as my goal, even though that sounds INSANE to me.
Well despite my complete lack of motivationin the last 10 days of June, I managed to shoot past my goal which means for me it was way too easy. So for July, I am going to aim for 60 miles.
I started C25K today as well and on my "off" days will be doing my walking videos, so 60 should be just about right until I can up the running miles.
2/60 - I want July to be so much better than June!
I'm lowering my July goal from 110 to 100 -- revamped my 1/2 marathon training plan to 4 running days a week to 5 on the advice of my running coach husband.
