Cool

Hi Chicks,

I have finally wound down from the school year and am relaxing on vacation. My school year ended June 17th but my sister came to visit and we did the whole tour of Seoul for the ten days she was there. After that we went to Vegas and played for five days but you know.....

Sometimes you just need to sit and relax. I went off on my own yesterday to the store and bought a couple of things although I feel like an idiot when I sit there and ooh and ahh over all the new styles. I feel like I am in a time warp for a year sometimes when I get back. I am trying to be good with my money this summer. I am also watching what I eat. I can really go nuts here in the states if I let myself when I get home. (The foreign food in Korea is just not the same.) I have decided to watch and plan my meals so yes....I can enjoy myself just not at all three meals a day. This way I at least maintain if not lose.

I bought the book Body for Life and plan on doing the 12 week challenge when I get home. I was actually thinking about signing up online for it and doing before and after pictures. I am not so sure about signing up online but I am definitely going to do the challenge this fall. It seems really livable and I like my gym at the base.

Two of my friends are losing weight but they are doing it with the aid of pills and shots. One is doing meso therapy ( I think she might of been taking some kind of metabolism booster as well.) and the other is taking Xenical. Has anyone here used/done either of those? I feel like a hamster in a wheel sometimes over the whole thing when I see thier results.

To add one more thing.....

Some of you who know me from the last few months know I am addicted to the scale. Well here at my sister's I can't get to it everyday since it is in her bedroom closet. I have to wait to weigh in either when I can run down the stairs to her room and whip off my clothes in the closet or wait until the repair men who are redoing her bathroom are gone.....

I guess this is one way to get over an addiction or give the repair guys a free show of 245 pounds voluptuos fat chick weighing in.

Hi Everyone! I am back from my mini-vacation to Algonquin park. I had a great time. We had beautiful weather for the three days and my doggie had a great time. I am just getting back into the groove and trying to catch up on all the threads. Here are some pics, enjoy!

Dana, I threw out $35-$50 worth of food. When I opened the freezer after being @ Mayo Clinic, this green cloud of funk hit me in the face. I had to get some Oust & even sprayed the thing out several times with Clorox Cleanup. No avail, still stunk, still wasn't keeping things even remotely cold, let alone frozen.

Ok so the old fridge had to go. The new fridge got here & the bottled things didn't feel that cold, so I borrowed my mom's fridge thermometer & lo & behold it was 60 degrees in my fridge. So the landlord replaced the fan & fan motor & now it works fine. Unfortunately, I've been eating takeout. Time to fill up the fridge w/good stuff!

Dana, how was your trip??

Scarlett, I know exactly what you mean!! that's my favorite thing to do, is borrow other ppl's kids. What have you got planned for your birthday? When do we get to see a wedding pic?

Dawnyal, how are you feeling?

Carol, thanks for sharing your pics!!

Marge, how is your boss doing? Did you watch the hotdog eating contest, ever? I couldn't even imagine.

Laura, we're here for you.

Sheila, what a bunch of shysters!!!

That's it from here. Gotta get back to work.

SAPF, my DH has something planned for my birthday but it's a surprise for me. I tried to put a picture up as my avatar but I couldn't get it to where the resolution looked good. I gave up, I'm weird about putting my face on the net anyway. But maybe when I get the professionals I'll put some up.

Carol, I love all those photos! The dogs look so cute in their PFDs. Glad you had a great time.

SAPF, the freezer incident sounds disgusting. I think I would have tossed my cookies (so to speak--haven't had a cookie in years!). Hope the smell finally went away.

So. . .it's HOT! I live in Oregon. It's not supposed to get this hot. And even worse, some clouds rolled in and kept the usually cool night temperatures up. When I got up this morning at 7:15, it was 79 degrees and muggy. I felt like I was in the east or the south--anywhere but the Pacific Northwest. We're not used to this kind of weather! We like to go hiking on Saturday mornings, but there's no way I'm hiking when it's 80 degrees and humid. Luckily, we have A/C so we turned it down last night, and I slept just fine, but I feel for all those people who don't have A/C and couldn't find a place to stay at the coast.

Stay cool!!
