Well, first off, let me say hello to everyone here.
I'm a 28-year-old with way too much to do and not enough time to do it all.
I got a huge shock the other day when I went to the doctor and found out I was prediabetic and had a whole list of other problems. When the doctor mentioned gastric bypass surgery, I was really scared!
After the initial shock wore off, and I found out my insurance won't cover any part of the surgery, I decided it was time to take back my body.
I started doing South Beach last week and so far, I've lost 11.4 pounds. I started at 326.4 and my goal weight is 180 (for now). I'm 5'11" tall and have a decent build, so I'm not sure where my ideal weight is, but I'll deal with that when I get closer.
I came to 3FC to get a little support and encouragement and to give a little support and encouragement and to pretty much expand my network of friends.
If y'all would like to talk to me, feel free! I usually check in here every other day or so.
Anyway, I hope to find all the support and helpful tips I need to do this successfully once and for all.
"A little support and encouragement", honey, here you will find Alot of support and encouragement.
And let me be the first to welcome you to 3FC and the 100lb board!!
Glad you joined us. I don't post a lot, but I love reading these posts and reading about such good ideas and great support. It's great that you decided to take control of your weight. My situation was somewhat similiar. It had been years since I had weighed, and I went to the doctor and was about 50 lbs more than I thought I was.
From that day forward, I knew something had to change and I've been working at it since. You've had a great start and I know you can do this.
Welcome to the fold, Ruth Ayn! I'm so glad you found us! You'll find here a world of support and perspective, so take full advantage of all that the group has to offer.
Wow! I didn't really expect such a HUGE welcome wagon!
I've been reading some of the other posts and I have been nothing but inspired by all of you!!
Thanks so much for the welcome!
I'm really kind of shy, so I apologize if I don't post often right off, but I never know what to say. That's another part of me to work on, but it should be easy with people like you to get me going!
Welcome Ruth Ayn,
You'll love it here. Everyone is so supportive and even if you don't post much, you should continue to read some of the posts. There are some really inspiring people here.
Welcome Ruth Ayn. It's nice to meet you and as you can already see this place is filled with wonderfully supportive people. I hope you get what you need from this group. I look forward to getting to know you. Don't worry, i'm shy too and I don't post too often, same problem, never know what to say. Welcome again!

Oh, Ruth Ayn
There's no need for you to ever be shy here! We share the same problems, the same challenges, the same feelings.
If there is anywhere in the world that you let it all pour out...it is here!
Plus, you have whatever degree of anonymity you choose to have, which is great! (I personally tend to really let it out...these are my friends, and I wish to spend actual real time with them....so anonymity is not vital to me)
Let it out, the good, the bad and the ugly... we are here
