Default I'm Baaaack.....

Howdy all - I'm sure most don't really remember me, but I was hanging around for a while (back in 2003 & 2004).

In 2003 I lost about 50 lbs but unfortunatly gained it all back (plus more!)

I have not been feeling all that great about myself - so I need to do something, and try to stick with it. I'm tired of gaining - losing - gaining - losing - gaining. It's no way to live.

3FC has always been such a great source of support, and inspiration for me, that's why I decided to come back.

I've been planning on doing this journey again - but I really wanted to wait until after the holidays so I could have a fresh start.

Tomorrow is the first day of my plan, and my very first weigh in day. I am not looking forward to the weigh in - but we all have to start somewhere - right?

I am really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things around here, and being able to help support everyone else that is on this journey!

So happy New Years to ALL here at 3FC - and to everyone here... keep up the great work!

- Kari Berry

Hi Kari I've been coming and going for awhile, too.... And really hoping to find some motivation to stick around. My husband is in Iraq (he's been deployed since 6/04), and has another 12 months to go. I figured that this would be a good time to work on *ME*. The kids are in school, and I've got the time to work on self-improvement. I just lack motivation I'm going to attend a WW meeting this week, and hopefully get a little push to get going

Sandi, my husband deployed to Japan for eight months and I lost 50 lbs. I did struggle, but not to badly. Killer is once they get home everything is really disrupted. Mines been home for almost two months now, and I struggle daily to stay on-plan. I still want to encourage you to take the time now for yourself. I'm sure that your stress and worry for your husband are hardcore right now. Probably a trigger to eat. I say go for it! You can lose weight and give your husband a grand surprise with your weight loss when he comes home. Also, exercise does amazing things for the body and mind. Let us know how your meeting goes.

I'd like to say also that I appreciate what you husband is doing. I'm a military wife also. I may not agree with many of the reasons we are there, but I do respect and appreciate your husband for the sacrifices that he has made in the name of our country. It really stinks that the deployments are so longggggggggggggggggg!! 18 months is insane.

Kari, Welcome Back!!

Hi, Kari! Welcome back! I'm new here, so I wasn't around when you were here earlier, but I've definitely done the yo-yo thing. Good for you for coming back!

BTW I'm in SE Michigan, too. Maybe we can commisserate together on how hard it is to be active here and plan strategies to overcome our geographical disadvantage?

Thank you, Tammy I don't agree with many of the reasons that we are over in Iraq, either.... It's a tough position to not care for the decisions that the president has made, but to turn around and support all of the troops. It wasn't their decision to be there. I know my husband doesn't want to be there! He has almost 19 years in the WI National Guard. He says as soon as he gets his 20-year letter, he'll be retiring!

Dana, I was wondering about your new ID! I knew it was probably you -- Green Bay and a scrapbooking fan I really need to stick around longer so that I don't miss out. This really is such a great support!!

Thanks so much for the welcomes - and congrats to all of you on your weight loss successes! I am so happy to be back here at 3FC.

Gypsydancer - nice to meet you It's cool when you can talk to others who are in the same boat as you are, and be in the same area. I understand what you mean when you say geographical disadvantages. There are many of them here in Michigan - especially now! lol.

Luckily I still have my gym membership - so that's where I will be tonight.

I've been off of work for 10 days for the Christmas holiday - and just sitting in the house has literally bored me to tears! I really needed to get back to the gym - and get myself moving. Today is the day.

I hope you are all having a great day too!
