  • Its 6.44 - I've just finished Leslie so I've done one!!!!! off to work!
  • Checking in today.....

Last night was alot of fun at training class with Emma (my 15 month old Pug) and they had us running. I have not sweat that much in a long time. Anyways, is there some sort of device that I can wear that measures the distance. I would be curious to see how much we truly run each week in one of these classes? Eating is going well, I am keeping it at about 1350 cals a day and the water..Well I am still working on it, i had 2 large glasses yesterday, so that is better than none. Any suggestions on how to drink lots of water and enjoy it?

    Until tomorrow....
  • Gretchen - thanks so much for that info on TIA.....it seems to be what the Dr said too, which is reassuring. Its hard though, because my mum is really shaken up - she's had a really tough year healthwise, and didn't need this! Still, fingers crossed the tests will turn out OK...

As to me, I'm happy to report that I just came back from the gym - 20 mins cardio, upper body resistance work, and 10 min swim. Also walked 20 mins today, so I'm feeling good. Happily eating healthily too, so I think I'lle just pop off and polish up my halo!!!!
  • Hey ladies! Looks like a good job so far, congrats everyone.

Luv, when I was still getting used to water (which I now LOVE) I added lemon and a little bit of splenda. it's delicious!

I ate a little more than I bargained for today... does anyone know why I'd get REALLY HUNGRY after waking up from a nap? I can't figure it out!

I had my last training session at the gym, so I did about 55 minutes of full body weights and 45 minutes of cross trainer. So I guess the "extra" 300 calories were burned off, but still!
    How's everyone else?
  • Today I got those time of month cravings but I only went 8 points over and counted them as my weekly points allowance. I also did work out, but only about a point or so worth. I had class tonight and on our break I ran up 50 steps and then back down.

Water sucked today! But I'm going to try to at least get my min. in tonight and float my way to bed, lol.

    Have a good evening all,
  • Happy to say I went to the gym this evening.....15 mins cardio, lower body resistance work, 15 min swim.....also walked for 20 mins today......and ate healthily. I'm feeling great!!!!!!!!!!!
  • So far I've walked 3 miles this week -- and tonight my new Leslie Sansone "Walkblaster" Ramp and DVD's arrived! Very exciting! Walking works the quads, and the ramp (like a stepper but easier on the knees) works the hams and the glutes....so lunges and push-offs are incorporated in her high intensity walking routine. I'll let you know how I like it!
  • I wanna join too.. sorta late.. I've been so crazy busy I haven't a whole lot of time to read all the new posts (holy hanna this place is hoppin'!). I started on Wednesday, and am doing WW, and trying to walk 1.5km's up my huge.. steep.. horrible.. scary mountain 4-5 times a week. I currently walk down it everyday.. up is better though! So my goals are to stay within my points, eat more veggies and get some exercise! I've been doing good so far! Sounds like you all have been doing good too!

On another note, anyone know how the WW activity points work? I'm following WW without going to meetings or really anything, I got the first book and figure out the rest on my own (I went to school to get a degree in health and fitness).
  • HI guys,
I'd love to join in your challenge thread, as I have had a real case of the blahs for the past few weeks, I've been sticking to my plan religiously in the week, but tend to fall off it at the weekends which is a pain.

I go swimming every morning before work, but I like to do a couple of step classes in the week too, which I have skipped for the past two weeks - I've been tired and v. busy at work, which I have been using as an excuse. The stupid thing is once I'm at the class, I love it, but getting my butt there in the first place has become a problem.

SO...next week I am going to do my class on Monday and Wednesday evening...no excuses.

I think the problem is I'm off to Crete in a fortnight, and I'm slipping into holiday mode. Also, my weightloss has dropped off to a steady pound a week, which I KNOW is perfect, but subconsicously if I don't lose two/three pounds like I did in the beginning, I feel like I've failed.

I shouldn't beat myself up about that, but hey, I want to hit my goal NOW!!

Anyway, I'm going to try and be as motivated as you all are, and see how good I can be before my holls (can't wait for all that lovely Greek food!!)
  • Just back from swimming........and I am feelin' good!.....Particularly since I just heard that my mum, who had a TIA on Monday, has seen the consultant and he says she is fine, no need to worry etc etc. Such a relief....
  • Sarah, let us know about the vid! I'd like to invest in some, but I can never find a consensus on what's the best.

Swimgirl, glad you're joining! As for the activity points, I know ww has changed since I tried it... but I *think* there was some kind of point-earn calculator that had you put in the intensity and time of your workout and it would be 1-3ish points per half hour. Sorry I don't know the details; maybe you can find it online, I found a point calculator somewhere. I might be completely off since I know ww has changed a lot, but thought I'd chime in with my idiocy.

Katey, hey! We're here to help and encourage. If you want to join in, go right ahead. Don't feel badly if you're not doing as well as you would like. There's always room for improvement. What a great vacation too! Hope you have a blast.

Claire, so glad to hear about Mumsy! AND the excercise. Good for you!

I've been a bad girl this weekend. Friday wasn't *so* bad, I had my workout (not as logn as I'd have liked but i forgot to bring socks... yucky!) and chinese broccoli w/ garlic sauce, so it was a bit off. Yesterday was all screwed up because I"m stressed, ate like a hog, and I didn't get my stupid workout. I'll be good today though. I don't know if I'll make it to the gym (work until 4, then a 400 page book to read, eek!) but I"ll try my damndest.
  • How'd I miss this?? Ok.. I'm in! So far this month I've got 13 miles of true walking (not my leslie) in. I love the Leslie routines but there really is something different about walking. I take very large strides and I can really feel it in my glutes. I am going to do the Leslie routine every day and when I can, I'm also going to add in my jogging outside. I signed up for my first real walkathon. Coming up in May. I've got to get to training! I took my dog with me today, he keeps me at a really great pace for jogging! I feel a little winded, this was the first time I actually jogged! We did about 1.5 miles. Thats good to start!! Here's to my new goal... Good Luck all!
  • Hey!! I have been a VERY good girl all weekend I stayed within my WW points things.. woowee! I have even been getting some great workouts in... yesterday I was running late so I ran for 5 minutes to the bus.. teehee.. ran 5 minutes walked 10 (stupid bus stop so far away!). And then after work I hiked up my hill, which is 25 minutes of heart pounding excitement.. or is that just me having a heart attack? Anywho.. I also ran for the bus this morning.. it's becoming a regular workout for me My water isn't up to par, but I am trying!! I need to move somewhere more flat.. because this hill just gets to me.. I can usually handle going for walks.. but just knowing at the END of my walk I have to climb up here.. it hurts! I'm going to stop complaining now.. because I know there are some people out there that would like to be able to hike this mountain .. on a side note.. am I skinny yet?
