Sandi, this thread has yielded such great responses, I'm so happy you started it! (And I'm one of Meg's biggest fans......she kicks some major caboose, that Meg.)

Gretchen, I'm actually an HR Generalist for a technology solutions provider, but I've been up there interviewing engineers -- by the end of the summer, I'll have hired like 150 of 'em in a few states. I really like PA though. It's so interesting.....I used to be a Training Manager.....we definitely have some things in common! You're not going to believe this, but I've got a binder too! Are we just two total dorks or what?! Mine is not as elaborate as yours, however; mine is devoted just to exercise and sports nutrition, but I created it because my was dragging when it came to exercise (as you might recall) and I wanted to focus on getting myself motivated there, since I had the eats under control. I LOVE your binder, though! It sounds great!

I'd LOVE to meet you next time I'm up there -- that would be so cool!

I've attempted to answer this several times and have managed to get distracted every time so here goes.

My life plan...
I've always known that in order for me to lose the weight and keep it off that I had to do a lifestyle change. That hasn't been the problem. The problem has been finding a plan that I can follow for life. I do not want to give up my foods. Period. If I come to a point where I just can't lose the weight, then I will cross that bridge.

This is the 3rd and final time for me to "try to lose this weight" since high school. I slimfasted my way down to 175 before my senior year only to stop once school started and gained back up to 190 by graduation. I think I went on up to 200 by the start of my freshman year. I went back my sophomore year at 236 but dropped 10-15 pounds just because I was more active during school than summer. I stayed at 225 for several years. When I started working at a TV station and quit my standup job at wal-mart I packed on 25 pounds in a matter of 2 months. I don't remember how high I ended up by atttempted fit for life for several months and did very well on it but without proper planning of meals, etc. I fell off that wagon. (attempted AM300 somewhere in that time as well)
I refused to try any diet after that until I was sure I could do it forever. I started back in 2000 on Weight Watchers and did very well. Then went through a divorce (did lose about 10 more pound through that process) but started dating again and stopped taking care of myself. A couple of kids later and here I am.
As for a specific plan, it's a work in progress. I know that I have to eat less and exercise more. It's just a matter of finding out how much I need to eat and how much to exercise.

I plan on counting calories and weighing each week for the rest of my life. It's not hard once you get into a routine. I am going to start out on 2400 and see where I go from there. I now am on 1800 to lose.

Boy with all the people around the Pennsylvania area we ought to have a get together. We could just meet for lunch (Healty eating) somewhere. I am in central Ohio but most of you in Pennsylvania are only a few hours away. I would be glad to dirve to meet new friends. Kimberley and I belong to a garden site that has a round up every year. We have meet so many good friends.

I would love to. I wanted to make the Chicago one but it just was not possible. Where would be a good cental place. I was thinking somewhere in PA that was maybe half way for Maryland and Ohio. We shold sart a new thread. Pitssburg looks like it might be a good place. It is closer to Ohio then Maryland but it would be more central for people in New York and if anyone wanted to come from Indiana it would be a little closer.
