Talking Back on the Weight Loss Wagon at 311.2 lbs

So, I have been back on the wagon legitimately for around 7 days. I am so excited that I haven't given in and binged or bought some of the food I have been craving. I am going on a vacation in December and I want to lose around 20lbs before then. I am in my 40s and I got up to 325lbs in July 2022 and my knees have been telling me that they aren't happy. I have also been getting stiff from sitting down for even just an hour. I found myself having to pull myself up from seated positions as it was too hard to get up with just my knees from certain positions. I currently have a hard time getting up from being on my knees on the floor cleaning (like scrubbing the tub, etc.) so I have been avoiding that position.

I am so happy that the scale is going down. I have done a chart that counts weight loss in 3 ounce increments. If I lose 3 ounces of weight each day, I can get to 300lbs even or so. On my trip last year I was 296lbs and I had a somewhat hard time getting around. I want to feel more comfortable walking and going up and down stairs and I hope that by getting back to 295lbs or so I can feel a lot better. At least I hope so.

So far I am doing low-carb/almost keto and watching my calories. I am aiming for under 1,500, which is a good amount of calories for my height and weight, and some days I average about 1,100-1,300 calories and I am okay with that as well. I eat a good amount of protein and take a multivitamin to help with any nutritional deficiencies.

I am so happy that I can't wait to see what the scale says tomorrow and I hope that it shows weight loss.

LibraryChick, you can definitely do this! I have been overweight-obese my whole adult life. I also weighed 310 before I was separated from my first husband (21 years ago). Mostly since then I have been in the mid 200's like 250-270. Two years ago I started losing weight and have managed to slowly but surely lose 100 pounds. It's great you are counting your calories! That is what I do as well. I write everything I eat down and make sure I don't go over my calorie allotment. For my age, height and weight to maintain my weight I shouldn't have more than 1700 (if sedentary) so I try to stay around that. Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Thank you so much for your kind words of support. I really hope I can keep up with this habit as it always seems really hard to restart going low-carb after eating a lot of sugar or refined carbs. I am down about 7.6 lbs since I start around October 1, 2022. So happy!!

You're welcome!
I mostly wanted to say that if you start feeling the calories are too low and too hard to stick with then consider raising it some. At your current weight you could have 2000 calories and still lose. It's better for us to lose slow than to to lose and then quit because it's hard to keep up long term! Keep up the good work, you will feel so good about yourself when you get into the smaller sizes. It seems about 20-25 and we go down a size.

Thank you so much for your kind words of advice. I tend to not lose when I eat 1,800- 2,000 calories. Not sure why. But I am making sure I am eating enough daily.

<!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->I am also looking for some weight loss tips and I am glad I found your post. I want to lose weight and for that, I am searching for every single tip online to reduce weight. I am also thinking about joining a gym but I don't have enough money. So, I started playing online casino games and already found https://casinosters.com/heyspin-casino/ website where I found online real money gaming links where I can play casino games like heyspin casino and can earn money by winning those games.
