Good morning :coffee2:

jazzfan22: I like what you have to say regarding figuring out ways to still enjoy eating without feeling deprived. One of my staff has lost about 40 pounds in the last 6 months and we had a discussion the other day about developing eating habits that we're willing to do for the rest of our lives. And it makes sense! We've all tried the shortcuts that work for a very short time and then old habits emerge. No, changes we make should be long term and livable. I fully support your pursuit of an extra piece of :cheese: if it keeps you satisfied and on plan!

Martine: Thanks for the background to your situation. So many things come to mind. You would think that excellent performance and longevity would give a person some leverage in big changes like these but you're right; it's always going to be the most experienced who carry the burden/responsibility to make immediate changes. When I hear stories like these and even looking at my own organization I start to think about creative problem solving in times like these. I only know a bit of what you do and your responsibilities but it hasn't stopped me from thinking about other ways this could of been resolved. :dunno: From one woman who works too much to another, yes, yes, yes, put an end to those 14 hour days. If you don't take care of you, who will?
****************************************
Not a lot to report today. I am going to leave work early today as I've been in early and stayed late all this week. Tomorrow a friend has invited me to an annual tea that she attends. I've never been to a tea so it should be fun. Wishing everyone a happy Friday and start to your weekend!

RunningRedHead 04-27-2018 12:36 PM

Casey: Maybe a fluke, but also good to know that you can skip a week of fasting and still see some decent results before jumping back on the band wagon :) Great job getting your full gallon of water in :cheer:

Curvy: Happy to report on the dog shenanigans  What an insightful post regarding your health and outlook on life. So sorry to hear about your co-workers but I’m happy that you were able to take something positive away from the situation. Enjoy going to tea with your friend :)

Martine: A car full of dogs makes for a good day. I have Loki and share custody of a pug () named Billy with my parents. The third pup was my cousins Pomeranian. It was an adventure, but they loved the windows down and all the wind  Great job staying on plan food-wise despite the bad news at work. I hope you and Loki are able to enjoy the nice weather this weekend ;)

Hurray!!! I finally got clearance from my PT to do some exercise on the stationary bike (only 10 minutes on low resistance, but still!) and some yoga poses :dancer: I’m so excited!! I'm also trying to convince myself to join a local gym so I can do some of the strengthening exercises I do when I'm at PT on my days off in addition to my normal exercises. Trying to psych myself into walking Loki in the rain today, but I’m not sure I want to deal with the wet dog smell  I hope everyone has a great Friday :D:carrot:

RunningRedHead Pugs and my Loki don't mix. The 55-minute walk was wonderful and we crossed path with many dogs, always a plus. Unfortunately Loki gets over-excited so I rarely stop but he was calm enough to meet a Corgi. I love Corgis. Very happy for you that you have clearance to move more. Progress is always so encouraging.

Good morning :coffee2:

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Yesterday's tea was tremendous fun with lots of laughs and smiles. About 75 ladies attended and the highlight certainly was the parade of tables. Each was decorated by its hostess in a specific theme. One was bird themed, another water/blue themed, and even one for very young ladies that was lady bug themed. Adorable! I would describe our table as classic with lovely matching China with an array of beautiful mismatched tea cups. There were at least two dozen raffle prizes awarded and won two $10 gift certificates to a local :jeno: place. Figures I would win a :eating2: prize . The food was good as well; a variety of finger food and not too much of any one thing. The servers were all students of the church who hosted the tea. They did an excellent job! It was a great way to spend the afternoon and I'm glad I attended.

Wishing everyone a great day!

Monday is going to be busy so I wanted to make sure we had our May thread up and running for Tuesday. New thread can be found here

Catching up for the last 4 days, before the month ends tomorrow...I had a random spike back up and have been having pre-cycle symptoms that have been intense enough that I even took a pregnancy test yesterday. It was negative, so I'm guessing I'm just having extra bloating and soreness/swelling than usual, which makes the gain make sense. Still regrettable though, since - by week's end - I ended up showing no loss at all. At least I was able to get the gain back down and ended up zeroing out yesterday. I only got in exercise a couple days this week due to all the bloating and discomfort, so that's probably at play, as well. I got back to last weekend's weight of 182.4 today, so I'm hoping that - if I don't see a loss tomorrow - I will at least be able to hold this weight so I can show a round number loss for the month. Fingers crossed! :crossed:

I will post my end of month update tomorrow and then catch up on personals once we get going on the next thread!

curvynotlumpy sounds like a lovely tea. I love a beautifully decirated table, I get lost on Pinterest from time to time looking at tablescapes. Congrats on winning those gift cards.

This weekend has been a wash as I have caught a head cold from David and the medication I took this morning has pretty much knocked me out. I'm planning a May exercise program, hoping to be in better shape by Tuesday to kick it off.

Hope everyone has been enjoying a great weekend.

RunningRedHead 04-29-2018 05:18 PM

Casey: Sorry to hear about your battle with the bloat, but glad you’re back to the point where the gain was negated. Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow :crossed: :goodscale:

Curvy: It sounds like your tea was wonderful, glad to hear you had a good time! :D

Martine: I think the only reason my Loki gets along with smaller dogs is because she grew up with Billy. When I brought her home she was only 8 weeks old and about 10 lbs (smaller than the pug), so I like to think it gave her a healthy respect for the old little man  Your walk sounds like it was wonderful. Sorry to hear you're under the weather, I hope you're able to kick that cold soon and get out in front of it

Work last night was slow again (everyone always says to appreciate these days because we are so busy most of the time, but I just can’t get on board), it makes the shift drag and that’s more difficult to stay awake when you’re sleepy  Hoping tonight is more the crazy pace I’m used to. The upside of it being so slow is I got 6L in. I didn't get to the store this past week, luckily i had some healthy odds and ends in the fridge that i was able to throw together for work (especially considering that the cafeteria is closed for renovations so my back up plan of the work salad bar had a kibosh put on it).

RunningRedHead sweet story about Loki as a puppy fitting in with Billy :) I can understand hoping for a busy night at work. Even during the daytime, if the store is not busy, the day just drags on and on.

Good morning :coffee2:

Popping in to wish everyone a great day and start to their week! Martine, get some rest and take care of that head cold.

See everyone tomorrow on the new thread here.

 Hi everyone! Just a quick check-in here and I’ll get back to the personals tomorrow. Got my wish yesterday and work was very busy :) Downside was that I was only able to drink 4L yesterday instead of my usual 5 so I think there may be a touch of water retention on board at the moment. We shall see tomorrow. See everyone over in the new thread :)

Well, I kept an even number but was low on water yesterday and jumped up a full pound, despite being on-plan otherwise. Weigh-in was 183.4, which means I only lost 3 lbs this month. Still progress, but frustratingly slow progress...hoping next month will be better. See you all over on the May thread!
