Molly, I find the chat back and forth is what really helps me. I like calling people out by name or screen name. I know for myself I like when people address me because I feel like they care and have read. I don't always address everyone's post but I try to hit on ones the ring a bell with me or try to encourage others when I can. I know when I was on here back in 03 we had a great group of people and I have missed them. My Wife and I even went and meet one girl for dinner and became friends. Sadly Sarah has passed away since then. We have built many real world relationships by doing what we are here. I love the internet for things like this. I'm hoping my wife gets back on here too. So keep up what you are doing because I know it helps people.

AKelly - I have encouraged him to consider trying independent consulting before, but I hadn't even considered a consulting firm. I mentioned the idea to him and he thinks it might be something to consider. Would you be willing to talk to him, answer questions via email, give him an idea of day to day life? I know he is worried about the possibility of spending all day driving site to site to site. If you are pm me an email address and I will give it to him.

howie - good job on limiting your pizza! Pizza is one of my favorite foods and I fail at portion control with it Great drop as well!

vchan - ROUGH! I love subway but I am not sure how I would do eating the same sandwich everyday for days at a time.

Still not losing a ton, but not gaining! Happy Friday everyone! Stay warm this weekend!

Howie, very true! I hope all this cardio is helping the inches and that the weight is from muscle replacing fat! I cracked up at PAMMI. I feel like that could also be Melissa McCarthy’s alter ego (if you’ve seen the movie TAMMY). Killer loss this week!! Great loss since Dec 26!

Molly, thanks for the info on the app. Will give it a try! As far as name goes, I always use user names too or pieces of user names. I called Rennie “love2be” for like 3 years until I finally saw people called her Rennie. My first name is Alicia but I am perfectly fine with akelly, Kelly, white-puppy-girl, whatever!

Rennie, congrats on the whoosh! I went down .6 today. Going to get on the treadmill this afternoon and hopefully continue helping my journey to my first whoosh of 2015! I am proud of not derailing – maybe that’s why I haven’t whooshed. My body is staying at a high weight until I get the routine established – then once it knows I won’t veer off track, it will reward me with a whoosh and I will be disciplined enough to stay the course and not gain the 5 pounds back. Hmmm…

Imthegoddess, I hear you on Subway. After eating it all the time it’s hard to find ways to add flavor without getting the non-healthy toppings, sauces, and meats.

Kukkie, Happy New Year!

Jill, I’ve done that water bottle thing too. It does help keep deadline-oriented people focused and on track for the water intake. Nice job on your 4 pound loss so far this month!

Pixikat, sure – I don’t mind chatting. Most of the larger firms have 75-100% traveling which is either a love or hate relationship. I love the travel and my relationship/life is not burdened very heavily with it. But lots of coworkers that have kids and such, they do feel the pressure of being away 3-4 days at a time. However, that being said, major cities like DFW have a ton of local firms that probably have local clients/projects. Typically you won’t bounce around day to day from site to site – you would have a client/project and work on that, then move on. PM coming w/ my email address By the way - GREAT LOSS. Wow you lost 8 pounds in 2 days!

I'm fond of subway too, or at least I will be next month It's mostly my own fault for not planning and packing supper to bring with me and relying on the subway across the street for it.

I admit, I DO like the fact that I've gone from eating a foot long with extra cheese and several sauces with chips or cookies to being better than comfortably full on a six inch. And there's no way to edit that sentence that doesn't make it sound dirty, is there?

Today I could actually do something that might be construed as a quadricep stretch. I could actually lift my leg and grasp the ankle. So I am very pleased. I couldn't hold the leg for long, but it is improvement.

We have our grandchildren this weekend- 4yr and 3yr- so there will be cuddles and snuggles, books and puzzles and candyland. There will also be chocolate milk and oreos. O. M. G.

Maybe if I just pretend I am on the colon prep I won't be tempted. (A couple of years ago I had a colonoscopy on Dec 26th so I cooked Christmas dinner and served it and never had so much as a lick.)

On a serious note, though, it will be a challenge. One I must face and figure out.
Have a great weekend everybody!

Imthegoddess, Friday is normally our treat night too but Ohio State is in the National Championship game on Monday so I moved this weeks treat night to Monday. GO BUCKS!
Great job on the weight loss. Since no team I follow is in the game, Go Bucks. But I'm really a Navy fan!

Sorry for your long hours, but great job staying on plan.

Look at the positive, you had salad and fiber!

I did okay on my cheat day. I feel good about it. I had a regular on plan breakfast and dinner, had my normal on plan snacks, and for lunch out, I had a whole meal salad. I do know those can be full of hidden calories though. Since the plan has had little grains and no dairy really, I stayed away from the street tacos, which is the restaurant's main theme. The salad did have warm goats cheese, and it was yummy. I wanted a glass of wine tonight, but I thought it best not to go there.

I'm proud to say that I dieted straight through the holidays, starting on October 13 and have lost 67 pounds. I never knew I could lose weight over the holidays but it looks like I can! I'm starting 2015 with the same attitude I started this diet with which is to not give up.~lisa

That's great. I hope I can channel some of your motivation and staying power. How did you loose so much in three months?

Everydaygirl- what an inspiration! Look at you go.

Goddess- Your cheat meal sounds delicious

I stayed within my calories yesterday-as best as I can tell- but I am up a pound. (I don't do the .10 increments even though my scale does. Just my personal preference.)

Our friend made dinner for us last night-thai curry pork and pork fried rice. I had 1/2 cup of each. That was it. But like I said, I can only guess at the calories. So it must have been way more than my fitnesspal count.

But I am not going to freak out. I have a 6 lb net loss for the 1st week.

vchan- lol thanks for the cute laugh! my husband does a meat salad now at subway and just leaves the bread alone. Any positive change is well, positive!

Howie- you are rockin', woohoo

Thinking of you all today- I made a list of names to try to get to know you all.
Have your best day!
~Molly

Akelly - Thanks so much! I gave him the email so you should hear from him soon. I had figured it was likely you work at one place for a few days or weeks then you move on to another place. He doesn't mind going out of town for work if he is flying, he just hates driving and doesn't want to put the wear and tear on his own car driving all over town all day long or driving all over the state. Many companies reimburse gas but never seem to cover maintenance...... Keep up the good work! Not gaining is HUGE, and if you are staying on track maybe that means you will see a nice whoosh when your body decides to let go and lose! I wish I had truly lost 8lbs in 2 days, that is when I went from eating out most days to not eating out, gotta love the initial water loss!

molly - the calories were probably not horrible, but it was likely more sodium then your body is used to on the day to day so your body held onto water and the scale blipped up. Drink plenty of water and it should fall right back off again.

everydaygirl - that is awesome! keep it up!

Molly, most likely it is just sodium. That's why I can't weigh myself everyday. I'd be a wreak. and a bit batty

Oh, I was down another .5 pds this morning. So, it is really 6 pounds in a week for me. I'm very pleased with that.

Back at cha' Molly re: comment on the 8th. Lord knows we've had some really cold nights and days here lately. thank goodness it's in the 30's today You are perfectly safe here I've been starting this thread for quite some time now and the people here are great supporters, and so are most newbies that join us (not all will be but they eventually drop off) so comment if you can, if you want to, if not that's fine too. I'm a chatter box so I'll respond to everyone even with a , a , or a but that's just me. We're all glad you're here Molly on the stretch move, I couldn't do that without leaning on something without falling over. My husband says I'm as clumsy as can be, smh GO YOU How'd you do with the oreos? I only like the cookie part so I crack them open eat the side with no cream and give the other side to whomever is near me

vchan000 I can sympathize with you. I was working those hours 6 days a week, then Sunday's were added after Thanksgiving through Christmas. I switched crafts and not working working on Sunday's (for right now) but still working 6 days a week. I hope your days, weeks ease up some LOL on the subway comment

imthegoddess, I'm still reading but good for you on all that you're doing and have done Hope you have/had a great weigh in Nice drop oh HI Lori Great going on your cheat day

Hey Kukkie, missed you my friend How's Peanut? You missed the kids bday's BJ turned 16 and Rissa hit 11 ... my baby's are growing up too fast ... but it's all good in the same

Jill my friend you got that right, patience is key on this journey, the saying on the threads is (SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE) right Do you use MFP? you can enter your measurements on there and note where you measured (I believe). I've only measured about 3 or 4 times in my almost 5 years. I agree with the pictures to help motivate and lift our spirits. They do the same for me. That might be what I need to do is mark the bottles, but I tend to guzzle them when I do drink water my husband and kids say I drink water faster than anyone they know. It's just a matter of getting to the second, third, forth and hopefully fifth bottle but marking times on them sounds like a plan, thanks for the idea

Howie, I love whooshes, WAY TO GO when I finally (totally get my head back in the game) I hope to see a few nice whooshes also. Keep up the great work I too have met (virtually) some really great friends on 3FC.

pixikat

LOL Alicia, I am gonna give you a sad face , all these years and I never knew that LOL I wish I could get the energy up to go to the gym. I know the treadmill works wonders for me. But I need the drive to get back to it. I get up so early for work now, between 2:15 and 3:15am so when I get off, I just want to sit. I wish someone could drive me home some days, that's how tired I am. Your whoosh is coming sooner than you think

Lisa, that's great, keep up the great work

Well I'm back at 159. I don't know what's going on in my head. I'm hoping to start Monday a new and get it together, sending myself and all who want it or may need it some and : Have a great day everyone

LOL

imthegoddess how do you do multiple quotes like that? Are you just copy and pasting or is there an easy way to do that?

Well we ended up going out with friends last night so we did have our normal Friday treat. Now the hard part will be being good on Monday night during the football festivities.

Howie, on the message you want to quote hit the middle icon at the bottom that has the " on it. Do that for all the ones you want to quote. At the last message you want to quote in the group, hit the regular "quote" icon on the left of the three. That's it.
