240.6 this morning. I'm hoping that spending the day at my parents' house didn't jump this up - I tried to stay OP for the most part, so we'll see. It's sorta scary, but in a good way: this is the least I've weighed in a while and I'm excited to see the scale go down after going through the 250's plateau for what felt like forever.
How's everyone doing so far? Sadly I've only lost a pound but I'm hoping by being in week 3 of P90X the weight loss will start up and start dropping. Fingers crossed!
Yay on the pound loss, Monkeyruler! A loss is a loss, no matter how little.
I went up to 242 this morning. I'm hoping that it's all water retention: I had a hectic weekend helping my mom while she's recovering from hand surgery and there was pizza ordered. I haven't had Little Ceasar's in months and now I remember why. Argh, sodium bloat! Heading to the gym this evening to do a good, long workout and spend some time in the sauna. (Still stubbornly holding onto the 240 in my signature, because I will get back down to that by the end of this week! *determined*)
I think the water retention weight got scared from my last post. I busted my behind on the bike last night (sweated buckets, red face, the works. I'm sure I looked so hawt ) and stayed in the sauna longer than I usually do. This morning I'm back down to 240!
Down another pound. Hope I'll be following you Issaknits and others into the next venture very soon. Definitely jealous yall have a sauna to use. I'm hoping to join a gym once I get a bit more comfortable in working out in public!
So I went to my very first spin class last night because I read somewhere that it torches calories and helps you lose inches. This morning I'm sore and my sit bones ache. As I hobbled my way to the scale, I kept on thinking "Was it worth it? Was it worth it? Come on scale, tell me it was worth it, pleeeeaaaaase."
241.6 this morning. It took everything I had to not kick the scale across the room. On one hand, I was discouraged that I had gained, but on the other hand, I remembered that my legs and ankles were a bit swollen last night after class. This is just water retention, because there's no way that I ate enough calories in a single day to gain almost a pound and a half.
And there are positives:
1. I went to a group class completely out of my comfort zone. I attempted a spin class a year ago when I was closer to 270, but only made it past the threshold of the bike room before someone snottily informed me that it was all full up (even though there were empty bikes everywhere. I later found out that you had to sign up for the class, but at the time I took it as a "You can't sit here" Forrest Gump moment.) I've been too intimidated to go back since. Yesterday, people were very welcoming and this one lady even took time out of her pre-class warm up to help me adjust my bike and give me a few pointers.
2. I made it through the entire 45 minutes. I felt like I was going to die and my face turned a lovely shade of purple while sweat poured into my eyes, but I made it. I even had enough left in the tank to wobble on spaghetti legs to the sauna for fifteen minutes.
and 3. Even though I'm sore and it really hurts to sit all the way back in my chair, my first thoughts were "Man, I need to get me some padded bike shorts so I won't hurt next week" instead of "OMG, I'm never doing that again."
Yeesh, sorry about the rambling. Anyway, how is everyone doing today?
240.4 this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed that the scale will keep inching on down, but I'm waiting for the pre-TOM water retention to show up any minute now.
A kick-butt workout that I had hoped would nudge me over into the 230's shot me up three pounds, and then a semi-healthy (hidden salt in the steamed veggies! Eeep!) business lunch shot me up four more pounds. Felt really deflated when I stepped on the scale and saw 247, but I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 242, so at least I'm getting back on track *fingers crossed*.
Besides drinking water, does anyone have any tips on how to beat sodium bloating?
I think I need to join you guys in this thread. I've been bouncing around in the 240s for so long and it just doesn't want to give up!
I got down to 241 but then jumped back up to 244 with too much chocolate/TV. It's the rainy season here, hot and humid, so it's not very conducive to exercise.
Today I set up the rowing machine, brought out the hand weights, dug out 30DS and Zumba and I'm back on it at home!
