Morning everyone!

Still at 193.9 but my BM didn't happen until after I did my WI. TOM is officially 5 days late. I really really need to get my thyroid levels checked but have not been able to get an appointment with my doctor yet.

Good morning ladies
Didnt get to go to the gym this morning because my husband took my van to work last night, and then he had to work over this morning I need to get some cleaning done around here anyway... Todays weight was 253.4. I know I wont continue to lose at this pace but I am certainly enjoying it while it lasts.

I hope you
all have a wonderful day!

Great day today! Made it to the two-teens with 219.6. I'll consider it official on the 3rd day, but then I have a mini-vacation this weekend that will be a challenge!

June 6 - ugh, I don't know why I'm stuck on the same weight for so long. I miss last fall when I was dieting and it was like every day I saw a change on the scale...

I am the same way, I don't like to get too excited about a certain change in numbers unless I can keep it up for while. I am also having a mini-vacation this weekend. Going to Chicago with my mom for her birthday. I know I'm going to be over calories, but am hoping to drink lots of water and walk around!

Good luck!

Thanks... my brother is visiting from the east coast so we are going to my fave ramen restaurant (not too bad calorie wise, but lots of sodium) and also to the Jelly Belly factory, then staying in a hotel (so eating dinner out) and going white water rafting the next day.

I know I'll see all the sodium on the scale, so I'm going to work on drinking a lot of water and make good choices when we eat out... and not eat too many jelly beans haha

Hi Everyone!

I have been in ICU with my Mom all day.

I will give a timeline of what I understand has happened and what is going on.

Those of you that have been around for a while probably remember my Mom has struggled with eating during her chemo treatments. A lot of things are coming together and make more sense. Although, what doesn't make sense is that my Mom didn't speak up about her problem.

I found out today that about 6 months prior to her cancer diagnosis, that my Mom started having issues with "acid"

With my Mom's cancer diagnoses, she was prescribed meds that could cause GI irritation/problems. This could be compounded by the fact that she didn't eat much food with her medicines. She didn't eat foods because her GI tract, throat, mouth, lips have been irritated.

This whole GI issue never improved, even with the change of meds. Also, my Mom never really expressed what was really going on with her. She has had bad pain when she tries to swallow foods/liquids.

Last week she had the blood clots that went to her lungs.

The medicine to help with the clots is Coumadin/blood thinners. My Mom has been given coumadin since being in the hospital for the blood clots.

We noticed that my Mom has had dark stools the last couple of days. She has also needed blood transfusions. The need of blood transfusions can also an effect of the chemotherapy.

Now it appears that she has had GI issues all along and the Coumadin has caused a bleed.

This morning the stool was worse and she was sent to ICU to get stabilized.

She has had blood transfusions today. They stopped the Coumadin and have also given her other drugs to reverse the effects of Coumadin.

Tomorrow morning at 7:30 she is scheduled to have an upper GI scope/repair done. They will take a look and try to repair whatever the problem is.

I hope they can fix the problem and she can be on the right track for recovery.

Now things have come together (I think) as to what the whole issue was with her eating. I don't know why she cannot express what's going on with her to the Dr. She just about dies before it comes out that there's an issue. Makes no sense to me, but that's Momma.

I ask, you to please say a prayer or send a positive thought for my Mom when you read this.

Diana: Sorry to hear about your mom's health issues.. I will definitely be praying for her

aka: good luck w/ the bikini wax.. My husband has wants me to get one, but there's no way I'm going in for one this fat, plus I am terrified of how bad it will hurt, lol.. Hope it goes well for you

underwater: congrats on reaching the 2teens!

Other than missing the gym this morning I've had a good day.. I came in at just over 1500 cals for the day. I cut up half a watermelon and put 1 cup portions into ziploc bags for easy, healthy snacks. That will keep me from being tempted to eat a cookie when I want something sweet lol.
Have a good night every one

Diana, I will be praying for your momma tonight! This is an important lesson for all of us to talk with our doctors about things that do not seem right with our bodies, it could save our lives.

Goodnight everyone and good luck with the scales tomorrow!

Hi everyone! I'm at 177 on the dot today. Ever so slowly going down. I'm about to get ready to go out to my daughter's school today for their spring concert. I love watching the pre-K class sing!!!

Acdamron- My TOM is four days late. Mine was so bad last month that maybe it's deciding to take a break this month. It's been irregularly heavy lately. That's a really good idea about the watermelon. I need to keep some fruit ready to eat for us too. So did your plan work and you stayed away from the cookies? I'm getting to try fruits here that I never heard of back home. We have something called loquats that are so good and also yesterday I had a white peach. It wasn't furry, but it was pretty sweet. I ended up cooking one wrapped in foil with cinnamon and nutmeg and making a 3 egg omelet with it. It was a sweet treat!

OnaMi- Sweet potato chips sound yum! I wish they had those here.

AKA- Hope the running helped you get that pound back off.

Domlacha- Have fun celebrating your mom's birthday. You can eat a tiny sliver of cake! I have to tell you something funny. My daughter's class had cake to celebrate a kid's birthday and she said, "His mom cut the slices this small (she held up her hands parallel and very close together) can you believe that???" The look of shock on her face was funny. I think she is just used to me cutting huge slices of cake.

Diana- I'm so sorry that your mom is still having trouble. I was hoping she was getting better after reading your post from last week. I know how stressful it is on you. Prayers going your way.

Good Morning, Everyone!

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. We appreciate them.

The scale is up this morning. It could be from sodium, TTOM that's currently going on, stress, or lack of sleep. Take your pick. Any of them, individually, could cause me a problem. I am grateful to be holding things together on the food front right now.

Calories for yesterday: 1470 +
Weigh In: 148.4 (TTOM)
Up: 1.2 pounds
