RJ ~ I went shopping on Monday and picked up some BEEF JERKY, and I love it!!! 20 grams (or 1/4 bag) is only 60 cals & 0.5 grams of fat. The whole bag is only 240 calories, but it is so tasty you will only want a few pieces at a time. I paid a bit more and got a really good brand; so it's chewy and very tastey. I have definitely found my new sub for a low-cal salty snack; going to the top of my list for sure ... thanks!

not a junk food, but has very much helped me with snack cravings lately...

sugar free gum, seriously the extra 'dessert delights' have a huge burst of sweet flavor that keeps my sweet tooth happy, it's gum so i'm not eating anything while i'm chewing it, and it's only 5 calories!

I have always been a fan of beef jerky but you have to be careful it's really not good for you as it gets a D+ rating.

I like to make mini pancakes with my medifast pancake mix and use either sugar free syrup and/or sugar free jam (tablespoon)...I roll it up and then make it a bit crispy using PAM cooking spray. I also use 1/2 tablespoon (17 calories) of I can't believe it's not butter. I get three of these for 100 calories and it feels like I am cheating.

JACK LINK's brand Real Meat Beef Jerky; costs more but is better than others ...

20 grams (1/4 pack) = 60 calories
Fat: .5 grams or only 1%
0 saturated fat
0 trans fat
cholesterol 15 grams
sodium 460 grams (high but less than soup)
carbohydrate 3 grams
sugar 2 grams
Protein 11 grams
Iron 6% Daily Value

For me, it's better than other alternatives like chips, nachos, salty nuts, etc; and OK for an occasional snack. DYK ~ that people have been eating beef jerky since the beginning of time; and that civilizations have literally thrived on it ...

MANDY ~ like the sugar-free fruity gum too!

if you like lemon bars and are willing to put in a small amount of work, i just found that this is pretty amazing

typically lemon bars are in the 120-160 range for a 2x2 square... i found and edited a recipe and came up with similar sized bars for 74 calories each! they aren't the jelly/custard texture but they have the same taste. super easy.

1 box angel food cake mix (i used duncan hines)
1 20oz can lemon pie filling (i used comstock)

preheat oven to 350
mix those two items (just those two!)
very very lightly spray some cooking spray into two 11x9 baking dishes (if you use too much the bottom gets mushy)
evenly divide the mixture between the two pans
bake at 350 for 23-26 minutes until lightly browned on the top
allow to cool and sprinkle each pan with 1/2 tbsp powdered sugar
cut each into 18 bars

makes 36.

74 calories apiece. 0g fat, 16g carbs, 1g protein, 120mg sodium

I've discovered Genisoy soy crisps. They have several flavors, but my fave is the salt & vinegar.
17 chips = 100 cal, 2g fat, 290mg sodium, 14g carb, 2g fiber, 1g sugar, 7g protein

Bonus - 11 of them is almost equal to one of my Medifast snacks, and much cheaper!
