hey guys

i have a confession... i haven't really been focusing on losing weight lately. just focusing on spending time with my husband. usually that centers around food. i've been going to the gym with him regularly (3-4 times per week). we had a pretty big non-fight that lasted for almost a solid week of not really talking to each other and for the last week and a half we've been talking it out and just enjoying each other's company. it's far too early in our marriage (just under 5 months) for us to have those kind of issues. so we've been refocusing priorities, and right now strict weight loss has sort of taken a back seat to other things.

the good news is, i haven't gained anything. and i'm sure the scale will be right there waiting for me when i'm in the right place to give it solid focus. for now, weekly weight checks are my compromise. i was informed that i spend so much time worrying about the scale and the calories, that he was beginning to feel that i was married to the scale.

i'll find a happy medium eventually.

k0nfyo0zed -

I was just checking out the posts...I think it is awesome that you listened to your husband and are willing to find a place to compromise! I've seen too many couples not communicate, or when the do they don't really listen.

You'll find a happy medium that will work for both of you!

I made it back to 199.6 this morning -- which was great, but I know i'll be back up tomorrow -- the day ended with around 2000 calories and about 6900 mg of sodium -- I'm not sure if that's right, but I at Thai Red Curry sauce at lunch and according to my app the sodium is over 3000mg per cup, I think I had about a cup and a half, but it's hard to tell. Oh well, back to normal tomorrow so hopefully it won't last for long.

Bulletproof -- WElcome back! I was wondering how you were doing, at least you've been maintaining, that's great. I remember you did really well when you were posting with us before, and I'm sure you'll be back on track soon with a little support.

Diana -- 1lb is not so bad after a night out...hope it's not around for long. See above, I think I'm in for the mother of all sodium gains! Will you hold my hand tomorrow morning when I step on the scale?

Oneless -- I wouldn't worry too much about what the scale says while you are healing, it could be a bit wonky and you might be better to put your energy into great healthy food that will help your body recover.

Ona -- Thanks! I think I made some good and some not so great choices today, but I definitely could have done worse. Congratulations on your whoosh today!

Kukkie -- Happy birthday!!

Mandy -- Good luck in finding the right balance.

Hi to everyone else!

Sometimes saying no and having restrictions is the best thing you can do for yourself - Joyce Meyers

TOM confirmed... I have had a regular TOM since I've started losing weight -- this one is about a week early.

NSV ALERT:
--avoided cake on Monday, and a pumpkin spice cheescake and some delicious looking huge pieces of cake on Tuesday
--Social outing today at sports bar: I had a diet coke and a turkey, mushroom salad (half order) :-)
I avoided the delicious looking wings and a nacho tower that were on the table, there were also ribs on the menu that I did not get
--Continuing to wear clothes that have been in my closet for at least 2-3y

My evening weight is 215...so expecting a gain tomorrow...I may do a few meal substitutions with shakes the next 2 days for breakfast and lunch...a better way to shake things up than what I did a few weeks ago....

Glad everyone is doing well and hangin in there!!!!

Thank you! I really like this quote!

Ona Great weigh in, yesterday!

Angie I am hoping your app is wrong about the sodium. Maybe it's not that bad. I'm thinking there is some asparagus in your future. Great job on the 199.6!

Up 0.6 to 197.2 which is to be expected following a late dinner of pizza, wine and cookies. Meh, birthday celebration, could have been worse. I'm pretty sure I offset any further gain with my longer than usual workout. I'd really like to hit at least 195 by the end of the month.

Morning All!
WI @ 228.4 this morning- down 2.6 from yesterday- yay! This also means that if I hold steady at this weight (I WILL!!!) I'm officially down 70 pounds!!! Woo Hoo for another on my siggy hoping to hold steady in the 220's through the weekend! I have to be super strict because I am avoiding the gym for a couple days- I believe I may be getting shin splints (any suggestions for relief?) and I don't want them to get worse during my class last night, near the end I could barely do the "low" option (lunges, kicks, etc.) where usually I am doing all the jumping jacks, high knee runs and drop squats I can! Oh well- gotta take care of it now so I dont end up on the injured list for an extended period of time. Hope everyone has a great day!

Mandy- good for you. There is nothing wrong with focusing your energy on life other than weight loss and I'm sure your husband appreciates it. My fiance loves when I basically say "screw it" and eat normally "off plan" food- it shows I can diet and still LIVE.

Amanda- yay for a 3 pound loss!

Angie- Congrats on Onederland- I'm sure you'll stay there!

LGW- GREAT job avoiding all those delicious sounding foods- I'm sure your food was delicious (and less guilt inducing) too! I am also super excited to be wearing clothes from the back of my closet from 7 (!) years ago now!

Kukkie- Happy Belated Birthday!

Scale bounced around from 210.8, 211.6, and seemed to settle on 212.0 -- so a gain of 1.2 from 210.8.

As I mentioned in my last post, I am going to shake things up in a positive direction.

....the pain of discipline....

Have a great day and a great WI everyone

everybody..

WI @168.4..down .6 from yesterday First morning of jogging in the cold this year wasn't so bad when i warmed up.Off to Spin and Zumba tonight plus.....dealing with contractors

Great job on the 2.6 Lill

Lookin good Crainjo

up .6 isn't bad at all KuKKie considering it was your Birthday ..just sodium anyway I can sense your mindset has changed about food and I'm just thrilled for you

Wow Diana, you had a killer workout on Tuesday. Can you take Ibuprofen? I have to take one when i hurt from exercising sometimes. Can you believe that i was a little disgusted cause i didn't sweat enough in my Power pump class yesterday we had a sub and she didn't work us hard enough who would have thunk it.I guest I'm not satisfied unless my heart is about to come out my chest
As a matter of fact..I was Talking to a girl yesterday about the Zumba class on Wednesday Mornings.I really like the instructor but she doesn't work us hard enough so I'd rather push to jog further than to get nothing out of her class. Thank you

Now Rennie,where are you

Great NSV LCW no ribs

you're back in the zone aka Run that fat D.O.W.N.

Great Job getting back to onederland Angie I hope the app was wrong too. but whatever you're on track, got your head in the game and whatever the scale says, you know you're doing all you can and will definitely be rewarded for it all Thank you

I am down 1.8 to 154.

Kukkie - I hope you had an awesome birthday!

Ona - I decided against starting the spin class on Monday. I had bad cramps and barely made it through my normal 2 classes, I couldn't handle a 3rd hour. I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Angie - Oh my goodness that's quite a bit of sodium, I'm betting you're gonna be seriously thirsty today. Chug the water and some lemon and you'll be back to the 199 and below it in no time.

LGW - good job on avoiding the off plan foods, especially pumpkin spice cheesecake since that sounds awesome and I might have been tempted there

lili - Congrats on hitting 70 down.
