Default Nsv

I'm in size 6 jeans, and you would think that would be the end of the NSV, but it's not. Last night I took them off and as I was folding them I realized that they didn't look tiny to me. They looked normal or even a little large. I remember when 6 looked really tiny and 20 and 22 looked normal. So I started looking at some of my old clothes and they look just huge! I think it is funny how our idea of what is normal changes when we go through this. I have entirely different viewpoints of normal clothing sizes, food choices, portion sizes, and activities that I did before. I think it shows that my mind is getting healthier too.

Congratulations -- both on fitting into and embracing size 6 as normal!!!

I have lost touch with my own size over the years, and I literally can't tell if a pair of pants will fit me until I try them on.

Congrats FGG!!! Those are awesome NSVs!!! Well done!!

I too have problems with reconciling sizes. I remember when I started, I would have KILLED to fit into size 12 jeans because they looked absolutely tiny to me. In August I started fitting into size 8 jeans and I looked and them and thought "gee who knew size 8 was so big!" <shakes head>

That's funny...I thought I was the only one who saw things like this! I wear size 8's in Levi's right now and that size used to look impossibly tiny to me. The other day I took them off hanger to put them on and thought whoops I must have grabbed some size 16 or something...nope, it was the size 8's...they looked huge. Very weird how perception changes.

You're so wise to recognize the change in attitude as being just as important as the change in clothing size. Wonderful accomplishment.

That's great! I think it's so important to notice our perception when we are looseing weight about pants sizes, food portions etc. Congratulations on being a size 6 and noticing your perception of normal for you pants size.
I have also noticed that I am starting to see a size 20 as normal. (I started as a 26). One night, I was going to take the trash out, it was dark and I grabbed a pair of jeans out of the dirty laundry and put them on. They didn't zip and I figured out they were my boyfriend's! I don't know what size he would be in womans but his waist used to be a lot smaller than mine. The fact that they fit over my hips, thighs and belly was a pleasant surprise.

Thanks everyone.

April - Awww, thank you

Madame - and soon you'll be able to zip them. DH and I are the same clothing size right now and being able to fit into his clothing was an awesome feeling. Next up: his clothes being too big
