By the way - I'm sitting at my computer eating supper - a salad. I know, I shouldn't eat in front of the computer - it becomes mindless that way. Anyway, I almost spit food on the screen at your thread title. I can just see your frustration.

Unfortunately, we don't have Greek yogurt here or Skinny Cow either. That being said I went to the store today to see what we DO have. There was frozen yogurt there that was 30 calories for one scoop! I bought it and cut up some fresh strawberries and bananas and had exactly one scoop with the fruit. It really was good and I didn't feel like I needed more after that either.

An ice cream machine would really be a lot of fun. I haven't seen any locally but I'll keep my eyes peeled.

They're "her favorite ice cream" and she's four, so that approval is a good one!
That sounds incredible! I'm definitely going to have to try it!

That frozen yogurt sounds great!! What a super alternative- and 30 cal?? Have TWO scoops! Or 3 for a 100 calorie snack! Wow!!

Just wanted to say, though, even if you can't purchase greek yogurt there, you can make something pretty close to it by straining regular yogurt. You just line a small colander with a paper towel, dump the yogurt onto it and let it drain over a bowl in the fridge for a while. It makes the yogurt thicker and more like greek. If you leave it to drain for even longer, it turns into yogurt cheese- which is more like a soft cream cheese consistency and can be used for all manner of delicious things.

I did moderation. I had 1-2 cones a month and it didn't hinder me and I always got a kiddie cone I tried to save enough cals for it too....a small kiddie cone isn't that bad either. You still get the ice cream, the taste and flavour without over doing it. It's not like your eating 3 scoops on a sugar cone!! Oh and I NEVER kept it in the house! The kids and I did it as a treat after dinner every once in awhile....off to Dairy Queen for dessert!
