Many of you know I started this weight loss endeavor in mid January when I joined a gym with a group of friends and some of our collective daughters. I equate my success to being a member there as much as I do to the food related changes I've made. A little while ago I took in a couple photos to show Lisa, the owner. One of me from Christmas at 252 pounds and one I took wearing the same pants (holding out the waist band) after I had lost 75 pounds.
She just looked at them and said, "I know this is what you looked like the day you walked in here, but I can hardly believe the difference." Then she asked me if she could use the photos on the gym's website. I told her she could, but I'd really like it if the "after" photo was taken at the gym instead of in my living room, and that if she was going to use them for the gym, I better be wearing tie dye, since it's a standing joke that I only wear tie dyed tops at the gym. We took a new "after" photo and she decided to use them in her newspaper ad a couple weeks ago. So I've had my 15 minutes of fame as both a "before" and "after" photo.
The best part is now I can't re-gain the weight I lost - it would be just too embarrassing. Sort of like Oprah going up and down all these years! I'm using that ad to hold me accountable.
Thanks for the encouraging words, but since it was an ad in the news paper, I'm not sure how to post it here. Maybe I can scan it and save it and then post.
I'll try tomorrow - off to bed now. Was waiting to see how the Yankees - Red Sox game turned out, but it's the 13th inning and I'm tired. I'm rooting for the Yankees and the outcome doesn't really matter to them except a win by the Yankees puts the Sox in a worse position for the wild card. It can wait until morning. I'll try to figure out how to post a pic of the ad tomorrow.
I scanned the ad. This is a link to it. Not sure how good it is until I try to open it here myself. Remember - it's from a newspaper and the resolution is poor. Can you believe how big those pants are! Size 24W. New jeans are 12's. LOL
Everyone - thanks so much for the kind words, especially Kiki and April Snow. You guys made my day.
