I did a good job yesterday! I stayed on track. The only thing I changed was I had a tiny tiny bit of popcorn at someone's house last night, but I didn't have any beer! It was monday night football in the neighborhood, so I just made myself a lemon water (1 whole squeezed lemon + water) and went over there. Much more easier, and it probably helped me reach my water intake for the better. Didn't take a beer! And it was super easy to socialize, almost more easy than when I drink. So, I am proud about that. Baby steps are hard, but when you put your foot down about what you are going to eat in a day, it's easier.
I've started keeping a food journal, which has helped me put my foot down, literally a book that i write my food in, much more accountable than these calorie counting websites, for me at least.
But yeah, stayed away from the sweets, but today is another day. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! Got to stay on plan, got to stay on plan. I am about to go a 5.5 mile run, a large amount of miles that I have never done before. I can do 5 pretty easy, so today I will have to push it. I am doing a 10k on October 31st, so I need make sure that I can run 6 miles. A little nervous, but I think I can do it!
Alright, I'll tune in later with everyone and tell them how my day went.
Would it be ok if I joined this challenge, too? I saw this thread yesteday and wasn't sure if I could join since I'm not technically a 100 forum member, but I kept thinking about this thread, and that I'd really like to take part in this challenge, and I am trying to get healthy and fit, and do have quite a bit to lose. I'll start my days calendar in case it's ok, and if someone could just let me know that would be great. Thanks!
@K-boogie, that sounds really great that your family is there with you. And I'm happy that it's a "lifestyle" instead of a temporary solution. BIG THUMBS UP FROM ME!
Yesterday was pretty great for me! I ate completely on plan Even though my body hurt from jogging on Sunday (something I haven't done in YEARS), I walked my chubbawubba puppy around the neighborhood and I rode my stationary bike while watching THINtervention
Today is my boyfriend's birthday.. any suggestions for healthy cake ideas?
What DH and I did was bought a slice of cake, and split it. Then there wasn't a whole cake sitting around to be eaten and it worked out perfectly. I had a lean cuisine pizza for lunch, but I am still going to consider it on plan because I have GOT to mix things up. TMI but constipation has been my companion lately and I'm thinking I just need to see if mixing it up a bit helps.
I will be on plan for the rest of the day. No money so that always helps to stay on plan! LOL Good job everyone! Keep going! And yes ANYONE can join!
I'm happy that everybody is doing great! Keep going!
I stayed on track today. Not so good as yesterday, but I'm satisfied with my willpower so far.
We had something similar to your Harvest Days in our school today. So you could find homemade cakes, bagels, doughnuts, sandwiches ... at every corner in the school. I ate just a small, tiny sandwich because of my pupils. You know kids!
Yesterday I ate about 1200 cal and today 1500 cal which is still in my calorie range. Tomorrow's gonna be much easier to stay on plan!
Another thing, I walked for about half an hour which is something I try to incorporate in my daily routine. I even ran for a 100 metres and must say I was out of my breath.
Exercise is completely on track (YAY!) but last night's binge was a little excessive. To say the least. And, I'm really, really craving a nice glass of wine right now after the hellish day I had at work. I didn't have enough time to eat my lunch, so it will totally fit into my calories for the day!
So, I think I'm going to revise my goals for the month, once I figure it out. Exercise is easy - I really enjoy working out. Food is easy except when the binge-monster rears its ugly head. And I'm far too stressed to give up a glass of wine!
But congrats to everyone else who is starting out strong!
I have had two of these little dudes in the last two days. I LOVE this challenge because the scale can be so dang frustrating. I've been doing great all week and then my TOM had to be a couple of days late and of course tonight was my TOPS weigh-in and of course I was up 1.9 lbs! Even though it's not a REAL gain because it will be gone tomorrow since I started TOM this morning, it is still sooooo frustrating!
Being on plan is what I can control and that makes me feel great.
Day two was good for me, I stayed on plan with my 40 mins of interval cardio and then I did an extra 2 miles of walking. I probably had a few too many strawberries that tipped my calorie intake but hey, they were strawberries and not a twinkie. =X
I am updating my original post with smileys, too. Have done pretty well, drinking plenty of fluids and eating within limits. I could have used a few more vegetables yesterday, but that is a pretty minor pick. Overall, I'm pretty happy with myself.
