Default TMI and Worried...

I have not gone #2 since Monday...and it was just a tiny bit. I am freaked out. I have never really gone this long except when I was pregnant. I don't know what to do. I have tried increasing my Fiber, I have tried uping my water intake, I have tried even doing certain yoga poses to try to help things get moving, and I'm at a loss.
I had HORRIBLE eating last weekend, and I'm wondering if that is what is wrong, but I really am starting to feel really blah too because all of the food just sitting in there.
Anyone have any suggestions? Should I just relax, or should I be concerned?

Prunes always do the trick for me. As a last resort, you can always pick up an enema at the drug store. Or a laxative.

I can not abide being constipated, so I am really sympathetic. I don't think you're overreacting at all. You know what is normal for you and being constipated is never normal. If over the counter methods don't work by the time the week is over then by all means call your doctor next week. They can probably prescribe something more effective for you. Having said all that, don't freak out. It sometimes happens and it's usually easy to fix.

I just can't resist saying this: Let us know how it all comes out. Sorry, I know, bad. But sometimes you just gotta laugh.

Sometimes eating too much fiber can make it worse, so don't go crazy with it! I would call the doctor if I were you. I wouldn't freak out about it, but I totally understand how uncomfortable it can be, and i never went that long without going!

I would eat a bowl of oatmeal with milk or drink a laxative tea when that happens.

I have heard that running can cause a rousing of the bowls. I say try it if nothing else it's added exercise. But it seems this is a very common side effect for the runners in the world. I learn something new everyday I tell ya. I hope something helps you. Good luck!

I tried a laxative tonight. Praying it works. I actually do run, at least as much as I can....so I seem to be having the opposite problem. :P Hoping I don't have to go to a Dr...

Coffee!
I know so many people who are "successful" with it even tough they have problems otherwise. And whenever I have some in the morning... well, it's like magic!

Good luck

I second the coffee suggestion. When I cut drastically back on grains, I found my normal routine slowing down quite a bit. Coffee helps keeps me regular.

Did the laxative work?

I've been having this issue too recently. After 2 or 3 days I take a bit of milk of magnesia at bedtime and that seems to work in the morning.

For me apples are a natural laxative, to the point I can't have more than 1 or 2 in a week or it works too well (donuts too strangely, but I digress). I am having the same problem you are and am adding in an apple or so a week. Maybe try Prune juice or something that you know makes you go over the weekend.

I have always had long periods of time between BM's. One time recently, which caused me to go to the doctor, it was two weeks! There was no discomfort or anything and my doctor said to just increase my fiber, drink water, and exercise, which I already did anyway. She said that some peoples digestive systems are just different and if it isn't causing discomfort than it could just be how your body naturally digests food.

I drank Yogi's laxative tea and it helped get the ball rollin'. It says to drink it for a few days to make you regular. I don't know that it made me regular but it worked and now I will go a few days between going but thats it.

LOL! Yes the laxative worked this morning, wohoooo! I feel so much better now! I was worried about taking it, because my MIL gave me one a few years ago and I got such horrible stomach cramps...but the actual brand name Ex-Lax worked for me!
I can't drink Coffee, so its really not an alternative for me when this does happen. But I am glad things are moving, I just hope it doesn't just happen again and I am in the same boat at the end of the next week. :P I think I remember the same thing happening with me and apples, so I might have to start eating those again.
Thanks for the support and letting me share my bathroom troubles! LOL
