I used to do the scale dance and could get a different number for pretty much every time I got off and back on. My new scale is a Taylor Biggest Loser scale - not too pricey but is VERY consistent. Unless I move it to a different location, I get the same number even if resetting by getting on and off, getting back on holding something heaving, having my son get on in between, etc., etc. It's nice to get on one time and feel confident that number is accurate. Maybe not 100% accurate in terms of comparison with a doctor's scale or something like that, but accurate in terms of being a consistent weight for comparison against itself and I feel that when it tells me I'm down (or up ) it's the truth

My scale always gives me the same reading. I can step on and off it ten times and more and it doesn't change one bit.

I weigh once, then get off, weigh while leaning on something to clear out the first reading (plus, it's great to see a number under 200, even if I know it's not reality yet! ), then get on again. Usually the numbers are very close now that I have a good scale. If they're a little different, I'll take the lower number to record. If they're signifigantly different (more than half a lb or so), I'll do it again to see which one was accurate. Sometimes, after weighing, I decide I'm not quite ready to be up for the day and go lay down for a little while longer. When I get up again, I invariably have to pee again. If i do that, then I weigh again.

And then there are days like this morning. When I was having my morning pee, I felt like I had to have a bowel movement and I wanted to do it before weighing. I couldn't quite go yet, so I gave up and weighed myself. Of course, as soon as I got dressed, drank some water and ate breakfast, I was able to poo. I was really annoyed because I'm very close to a major milestone (half way to goal!) and I really think that BM would have pushed me over the edge (Sorry about the TMI )
