oh, baby, yes, can I relate. Three weeks before xmas I was laid off from my job (of 9 years) with no severance (and 3 weeks notice). I cried and completely stressed out. Luckily, my resume was pretty up to date, and I had an interview suit. Check out unemployment and whatever you may be eligible for, start making calls and emailing for references (get letters if you can) and leads.

I ended up getting a job fairly quickly (thank Buddha!!), and I really like the new place. I got the job through someone I had worked with whom I almost didn't even bother to let know I was looking.

keep your chin up and keep plugging away. it may be that you find something that has a long list of pluses over your previous job. good luck!!

just realized I didn't answer your eating q. Exercising helped me. I have a Y membership, and working out helped relieve my stress. Also, eating healthfully actually helped me too. I knew I had to be good to myself and stay calm. I've struggled more with weight loss now that I've started my new job since I'm more surrounded by treats and good places to eat, and I have much less time and energy to get to the gym (my new challenges).

Yes, please check out unemployment and many gyms have special deals for people out of work. Don't forget that you can usually get health insurance through the Chamber of Commerce at a group rate.
Just take care of yourself, however you can..
