I have been non-stop shopping. Somethings gotta give. I have no more space for any of it and not enough days in the year to wear all of it. It's just getting ridiculous. Bought myself three GORGEOUS blouses today from Marshalls and 2 pairs of shoes, which is on top of the 3 gorgeous dresses,1 skirt and one sweater I bought in the past two weeks. I'm sure there's more, just can't think of it right now.
It's really not even close to normal how much clothing I have.
Nothing like retail therapy.! Robins closet sounds a lot like mine. I was just so enchanted to buy clothing in a normal store and nothing begins with an X.
oh my gosh bargoo - closet? like singular? oh, no, no - I've got my own HUGE closet jam packed and I've got stuff in every one else's closet in this household. I've got huge under bed storage containers filled with sweaters and tops. my stuff is EVERYWHERE. The new stuff I bought today is just laying on my bed - I just don't know where it's going to go. There is no more space. I've got two daughters getting married though, one in 2 weeks. Though I will miss them terribly, I am going to POUNCE on that space.
cfmama, I am looking forward to those pics!!!

I went shopping too but you saw the pic of my new bikini top on FB lol I really want to find some cute summer dresses but I'll be darned if I can find any in a real store (can find them online but it's not as fun!)
That is so awesome, congrats on your shrinkage, even in the scale won't budge it is obvious your body is responding to your consistent efforts. I agree, I want PICTURES!
I'm going to get jeff to take pics but what I ended up with tonight was
one just below the knee's funky stretchy black cotton sleeveless dress
a pair of black leggings that come just below the knees
orangy/red peasent top that comes down just past my hips
black bra
cute black flip flops with tiny white polka dots on the straps...
all of the clothes... ALL OF THEM in a size LARGE!!!!! NOT A SINGLE XL IN SIGHT.
Robin, it's so strange, isn't it? I used to never get rid of clothes that still fit, because I had so few things. I had to break myself of the habit of keeping all of it or we'd be out of space too (though I admit that the guest room closet has been completely taken over with dresses). We try to purge once a season and I still find it hard...such pretty things that fit so nicely!
Yes, MAndalinn, too funny. It used to be get something new, have to get rid of something old to make space for it. Well that's just not the case any more!!! Everything STILL fits and everything is, well, very good looking. I can't wait to get dressed this weekend with all my new stuff. And since my closet is so packed, as I was trying to make room this evening, I found some clothing that I had forgotten about (it was hidden) and boy is it nice!! It's funny in that back in the day, I had so few outfits, yet alone *good* ones, that I would never ever forget about them. Now, I have so much and don't need to repeat outfits all that often that they get lost in the shuffle.
I was thinking about this earlier, I always say it's okay to tell your self no when faced with tempting foods - I think it may be time to tell myself no when faced with tempting clothing!! - Nah.
dfmama, sounds like you did well!
I am still amazed at how much fun it is to shop and get dressed everyday. And to think I had been missing out on this for a couple of decades.
Just today, well at this hour, I guess it was yesterday, I had to meet with the caterer at the hall where my DD is getting married. I felt SO good going into that meeting. I was wearing a great pair of pants and a chic blouse. My hair looked good, I had on a smart, simple necklace and earrings, a great pair of low ankle boots. I felt like a million bucks and I gotta tell you, it really comes through when you're dealing with people. I was coming home and thinking how miserable an experience this would have been had I still been so overweight.
