Unhappy Waaaaaaahhhhhh!

OKay- its official, I'm depressed.

First of all, I gained 2/10ths of a pound. Miniscule right? Shouldn't be upset, right? Nope. I bawled, and ate a piece of cake and an ice cream bar. I worked SO hard to get to 40 lbs lost before my sister came home (she arrives tomorrow).. and I didn't make it.

Also, Oreo (my dog) tore up our bedroom door today during a thunderstorm. I really don't know what to do, but I'm starting to think we are going to need to send her to philidelphia with my parents. I just cannot deal with her old dog upkeep, or keep up with the expenses she is wracking up left and right. She's now destroyed half a door frame and a solid wood door. Her stomach has acted up 3-4 times causing huge smelly messes. I really just don't know what to do. I'm afraid if we send her off, she will die, and I won't be there. I'm afraid it will really send her for a loop, and she won't be able to handle it. I'm afraid our landlord won't let us have another dog if we send her with my parents.

So, I'm having a bad night, and I'm failing miserably at following my own advice. The whole world seems to be falling apart right now, and I'm just not handling it well.

Oops, I hit the wrong button

Concentrate on the THIRTY SEVEN POUNDS you did lose. That is an amazing achievement!!!!!!!!!!!! We're all so proud of you. You are definitely a role model for all of us here! Didn't you lose seven pounds last week? Your body is just adjusting, that's all. I bet you have a loss next week.

I'm sorry about the problems with your dog. I hope you can find a solution that works for you.

Have an excellent time with your sister. Be sure to tell us all her reaction to your wonderful weight loss.

Hugs!!

Sherry

[[[[[[[[[[[[[[bethanne]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] come on darlin. you can do this. you've BEEN doing it. it's a mess, and it's not pretty, but it'll get better. i promise. and maybe the dog WOULD be better off with your parents. and don't feel guilty if that's what you end up doing.

and breathe. you're doing incredibly well with your program. drink more water [yeah, you're probably drowning already], decrease the salt. do something nice for yourself. and enjoy your sister.

I'm sorry for all the bad things happening to you but like you always say, it happens to the best of us. You need to sit back and take a deep breath and realax. The pounds will come off and when they do you will be SO much happier. I'm sure your sister will be just as proud of you for loosing 37.2lbs. If I was your sister I would be. Your doing so good right now you don't need to be depressed over that.

I'm also sorry about your dog. I have dogs and my Rotti, did the same thing to the wall. He was upset that we left him ( while my hubby was visiting ) and he chewed all the plaster off the wall. Thank god we own our home and don't have to worrie about getting it fixed right away. Best of luck to you in that area!!

My prayers are with you,
Bella23

Oh Beth Anne....

I am so sorry you are feeling so down right now. I have to agree with the others....don't worry about not losing that 3lbs...be glad and rejoice about losing the 37lbs. What an accomplishment to have come to. I can't wait for the day to say I lost that much.

As for the dog, well I really don't know what to say for you there. I've never been in that kind of situation before. Good luck with your decision.

So please don't be so hard on yourself and enjoy your visit with your sister.

Hugs to you and take it easy.

Beth Anne, I know how you feel. But you have done so well. We all seem to have such high expectations for ourselves. Your weight gain was miniscule but that does not change how you felt. You will shake it off and be back on track.

Sorry to hear about your doggie problems. I have two dogs that are the loves of my life (after hubby and kids) (well after kids anyway). How old is she? Sometimes dogs can adapt...did she ever live with your parents?

Your sister will be thrilled to see you whether you lost weight or not....but you have lost a terrific amount. Enjoy your visit with her.

Take care of yourself and if you continue to have doggie problems send me a pm....I have owned six dogs in my adult life and know quite a bit about them.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Beth Anne}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Now I feel like a real heel for not saying hello when I saw you on IM earlier! I'm so sorry that you didn't meet your goal, but you know what? I agree with everyone else! You are doing so well! 37 pounds! That's awesome! Girl, I have been doing WW for nearly 16 weeks now and have STILL only lost 9.5 lbs.! I also agree that, after your humongous loss last week, your body is still adjusting. 2/10 of a pound could have just been a couple of drops of water left in your bladder.

As for your dog, I know this sounds REALLY yuppie, but have you asked the vet for some doggy Prozac? Seriously - my uncle had a Great Dane/Mastiff mix (half dog, half horse! ) who had chewing "issues" (as in he devoured an ENTIRE overstuffed couch!) and the vet put him on Prozac and it cured him. I don't think it would cost that much...certainly not as much as people Prozac, even though it's the same thing!

Anyhow, keep your chin up! Your sister will love you anyway - just like we do!

dear dear Beth Anne - you have every right to be pissed!!! I'd be so angry. You worked so hard and your body said "nope, not yet!"

My goal was to reach my 10% by July 4 - didn't happen - I could have used it as an excuse to just quit. But that would have been stupid - and you know it!

You know it will come off - just not when you wanted.

The important thing is what are you going to do now - what is your plan for this week???

Breathe girl, breathe.

We all know how frustrating this weightloss journey is. How frustrating to not reach goal when we want. But like it's been said, think about how much you have lost. Remind yourself that it is possible to keep going, but it takes time. Be proud of yourself you didn't throw the towel in, you could be 37 lbs heavier right now, instead of where you are.

About the dog, I think you need to decide what is best for Oreo right now. Was he like this when he lived with your parents?

Remember to breathe, relax, and remember "This too shall pass"

Beth Anne:

I agree with everyone that you need to concentrate on the 37 you lost. Do you think your sister would notice the 3 pounds that you didn't lose or do you think your sister would notice the 37 you DID lose? And wouldn't she love you either way?

Take your time deciding what to do about Oreo. There really is no rush, is there? If you are having a stressful day, then wait for a day or two and then think about what is best for her - and you.

Jennelle: Did your uncle's dog poop cushions after eating that couch?

Beth Anne.. I feel for you. First you have done so well it makes me so happy to see you suceede. Yes, suceede! When you get as close as you have to your goal that deserves great big hugs and congrats :: As for your dog, I completely understnd. My dog is named Oreo and he is a mess. Doesn't sound as old. But, he can reck a place inside and out without any thought. Lucky for me I live in the country and he gets lots of freedom, exercise and love. Don't worry about the throwing up it may be the door she ate. And plse get back on the wagon. Cry alittle and then pat yourself on the bck for your achievements. I wish I was as lucky as you. Hope you get out of the pit soon.

Oh boy, poor Beth Anne... considering your weight loss, look in the mirror, look at the pictures you were so excited about, and think how good that 37 pounds looks off of you... the 3 will come soon, but 3, they would have been great... every pound is an accomplishment, but on that same note, look how much you've already accomplished!

As for Oreo, if you think it would be better for your sanity to let him go back with your parents, by all means let him go... he's destroying your home, and it sounds like he's shredded your last nerve too... I know you'd LIKE to keep him, but, you have to look at the effect it's having on you...not to mention your finances...

{{{hugs}}}

I know how disappointing it is to not lose when you are shooting for a goal, but you have lost 37 pounds! That is AMAZING! Go pick up a 20 pound bag of potatoes. Feel how heavy that is? Well you were carrying around that + 17 more pounds! You are doing fantastic & your sister will love you no matter if you are 3 pounds shy of your goal. Enjoy your time with her

About your dog, you have to do what is best for you. Perhaps her living with your parents would be better. Give it some time & thought & do your best.

We're all here for you
