Thank you all!

The amount I have to lose is still daunting, but I look at some of the success stories here, and hope that the same is possible for me.

Yes, you can do it! And it's also true that you don't need to focus on the big goal. It's amazing how MUCH BETTER you feel after a smaller loss.

I'm still very overweight-- but I wouldn't go back to where I was for anything.

I can really identify with you. I started a year ago when I was 53 and my weight about the same as yours. I did not look at exactly how much I needed to lose and really still have not. My end goal weight keeps getting pushed back.

My one year anniversary is Tuesday. I have lost at least 64 pounds but hope that I see that extra pound gone on Tuesday to make it an even 65 pounds. Sixty five pounds make a huge difference. I feel soooo much better!

I don't know how long I will be losing weight but I know that I am making permanent changes. It really does not matter how long it takes me. As I am getting older, I am getting healthier. That is what really matters.

Don't worry about how long it will take. Just start! You can do this!

i'm 48 and my average weight loss rate is 1.33 pounds per week. There are a lot of chicks with a much more impressive record, but my method works for me and I'm still able to have a couple of junky meals per week (a small bit of pizza and tater tots from Taco Time). It doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me.

I've been at this since the beginning of January. I've "only" lost 45 pounds, which isn't going to break any records but I cannot tell you how much of a difference it makes. You absolutely can do this and the time will fly by whether or not you're losing; might as well lose!

You can do this and we are here to help you!
