Default so I threw 2 bras out

Although I've lost some weight, I knew my bras weren't helping prove it. Caught sight of myself in a mirror and it was just spare tyre up on spare tyre upon spare tyre.
So I bought a really nice, padded, underwired T-shirt bra in the supermarket, took a risk on a 38C (are bra sizes the same UK/US?), there wasn't any where to try it on, only £5 lost if it didn't fit.

It fits great! TBH, I could have done with 38 C+1/4 but D would have been way too big.

The 2 I threw out were real desperation bras I got last year when I put on even more, they were unpadded 42Cs. I threw them out rather than save them for 'just doing the housework' days, because if I don't, I know one day I'll end up wearing them outside.

And now my shape has gone from 'squidgy' to 'hello boys' - and I like it!

Awesome for you. I bought a new one yesterday too--it is nicely padded (firm padding) with the underwire and for just $3.99 @ Ross. (I think thats about 2 pounds.) It has the clear straps on it--I guess it's appropriate to wear with camisoles and things.??? If anyone knows for sure, can you post? It looks really nice on and I wish I had taken two. I don't know that is shouting, "hello boys" but at least it whispers.."I'm a girl." LOL.

A good bra can make such a huge difference. I am finally fitting into mine better. I've unfortuantely been wearing bras that were too small because I refused to buy a bigger size.

You can have the straps show if they match with tanks--great if they are clear

I need to buy some new ones that actually fit too...not my fav thing to do

I never understood the clear straps thing. Like that actually makes them invisible.

A good bra can take off 10lbs by itself. Thats what I always say! I am quite large chested. i wear a 40H. I didn't even know there was an H untill a couple of years ago. i was walking around trying to wear a DD LMAO. No wonder it never fit right. I wish I could get the less expensive ones at a department store. Actualy even my fav plus sized store doesnt sell my cup size. i have to go to a lengerie Boutique and pay at least $60. I must say its worth it though.

Thighs Be Gone--about the clear straps. I have an open-weave cardigan that I wear w/ a thin-strapped tank underneath. The clear-strap bra works well with that. The straps aren't completely invisible, but they aren't noticeable at all through the cardigan.

Okay, gotcha. Well, I figured it was better than my big 'ole Maidenform things showing!

By the way, I started using the Oil of Olay Touch of Sun lotion this week. I love it--it has given my skin--well, a touch of sun--it doesn't look streaky or freaky--just nice.

TraceyElaine: you should check out "Goddess" bra's on ebay. They go up to really large sizes (I'm a 42 FF) and normally they are like $80 bra's and you can get them for $20 or less!!!

Good for you!

I need to do the same thing . . . I'm wearing some older bras from my trip up the scale, and sometimes still wear the same 42Ds I wore at my peak weight . . . not good.

I too bought myself two padded underwire bras. Love love love them! Especially since it "appears" that most of the weight I have lost is off my chest! lol
They fill me back out a bit up there!
