Coincidence that I ate a Lean Cuisine panini and roasted red pepper dip with flatbread last night? I think not
It's USUALLY sodium and the weight of your bowels. No poop for me this morning therefore... no loss!
This boggles my mind. 0.8 pounds needs a reason? I have had bigger fluctuations than that, constantly, from the very beginning, regardless of how I eat. 0.8 pounds wouldn't even make me stop to think about what I ate the day before. It wouldn't even register as a blip. But clearly, from many, many posts I've read, many people have very, very steady results.

I, personally, monitor my weight very closely, and log food exercise etc to explain weight gains (aand lossestoo) this helps me in a few ways. firstly, this is my #1 project right now...probably as time goes on, when it becomes habitual to stay on plan and focused, I won't need to be so hyper-vigilant. right now, it helps me stay on track. I become more in tune to my body....what makes me gain, what makes me lose...etc. because of my vigilance I don't binge anymore because I KNOW what will happen. I weigh in daily (I post weight weekly) to keep myself on plan. otherwise a day offplan turns into a week, then into a month....etc, etc.
I gain weight at ovulation (1-2 days) and the first day or two of cycle. Also, when you first begin working out your muscles retain fluid as part of the repairation process. It should be under 2 pounds though--or so I have read.

This is the camp that I am as well. I do lose weight fairly steadily and quite linear so when the scale goes up .8 lbs instead of going down it's usual .6 lbs that's a 1.4 lbs difference to me and I try to explain why.

*shrugs* just the way I am I guess
well...if YOU'RE doing it then I must be on the right track.
I'm definitely going to emulate someone who has been successful.
The only thing that rings out to be a little bit, is that you say you stay *around* 1600 calories. Just wondering how are you monitoring that? QUOTE]
I say "around" because I range from 1550-1650... 1671 is the amount that my Fitday figured. I track everything in Fitday so I think it is fairly accurate.
Yeah, that's what I took it as when you wrote it, that it was an average. It sounded like you were certain.
Absolutely, just keep on keeping on. I know it can be frustrating, but just know that you are doing the "correct" thing and the weight will come off. You will learn to recognize your own bodies fluctuations and it will become less frustrating. You're doing GREAT!!!! Keep at it. Just keep on going.

All of that was true for most of my weight loss, and I still fluctuated a lot. Just another of those differences, I guess.
