I don't think it's so much "no whining". It's more that when you whine (because we ALL whine), the response is "Yes, it is hard, I sympathize, but you have to do it anyway, so keep going!" It's a slightly tough-love approach that still has a ton of heart, and includes lots of common-sense advice and solutions.
I love the 100 lb. club too!! When I first joined the forum, I found myself most relating to the posts and threads over here! Y'all are a pretty cool crowd
Ha! And here I always make myself scarce around here when I'm feeling whiny, because I know someone will just tell me to put on my big girl panties and get on with it Which is exactly what makes this board so awesome, all the encouragement without any of the coddling and excuse-enabling. I might be losing slow, but I've lost 65 pounds so far with the help of this place, and I know I will reach goal eventually, thanks in part to what I've learned here.
mandalinn82 I didn't realize that you were my same height and weight when I originally started. O.O You are actually at my dream goal weight that my mom has always told me I could never reach without looking "sick." You have given me hope that I can be 165! ^_______^
I have lurked here for a really long time and just very recently decided to step up and join - this place is awesome. What I like most is that when people get down it seems like everyone steps in and pulls them right back up - even if they are kicking and screaming the entire way....
Again - welcome back and I know you can do this!!!
I love it here because who understands me better than those who have more than 100 lbs to lose? I'm amazed at how many of us there are....and there are things I can share here that a featherweight wouldnt understand (no offense to those who just have a few to lose).
Jennelle, it's cool you've seen such a change in this board. I post a lot over on the 20somethings board but I always check out the 100 lb club because I feel like the people here can relate to the journey I've been through and am still going through. You're right, everyone is positive, working hard, and not making excuses!
This is my fav board to come to I used to think I was the only one that faced a big weight loss and it was really scary to me....I have the full support of my family but since they are all average weight they just don't understand enough. Thanks to the wonderful women at in the 100lb club they helped me feel confident enough to stick with this journey!
I too love this Board...and especially appreciate those who have succeeded but stick with us for encouragement, information and support! Thank you Glory, Schumeany and Mandalinn. (Not to mention Photochick and JayEll who while not yet quite at goal have been around for a long time and have success and wisdom to share.) (Apologies to anyone I missed...)
