I have taken trim spa and I thought it suppresed my appitite but it didnt give me any added energy and thats one thing I look for in diet pills because I need all the help with energy I can get lol.
My mom has taken alli and she loves it. She only takes if she knows she going to eat a fatty meal because she feels like if she is eating healthy and exersizing then why would she need the pill. She has lost 60lbs and credits it partly to that, and has not had any issues with oily discharge, but I have read that it may cause cancerous (sp) lesions in the rectum not any thing I want to sign up for! Not to mention I cant afford it they want 50 bucks for the starter pack at walmart here and like 70-90 for the bottles of like 90 to 120 count. To much for me expesialy when i could be paying to get cancer in my rectum ( sorry to be blunt)!

I guess what it really comes down to is your own motivation & self-control..

I'm sure my doctor wouldn't put me on anything even if I asked him. I'm a bit afraid of diet aids, anyway.

I took phentermine for about a year and lost really good, but it came back plus lots more when I went off. I went off for financial reasons. Someone else suggested splitting the pills. I did that and had better results- taking onehalf in AM one half in PM. Just be sure your doctor or pharmacist oks that plan. Some of the pills can not be halved like that, you must have tablets. Also we found that some of the generics were not effective. All in all I don't recommend it. Its like putting a band aid on a splinter instead of removing it.

As for Alli, my sister just took it for 2 months. She had horrible stomach pain the whole time. She did lose some weight, but she hurt too bad to ever want to eat. She quit due to the pains.

In the beginning of my weight loss, I used Alli. I stopped Alli when I started to trim a good portion of fats out of my diet. I am restarting WW and using Alli. The only time I had negative problems is when I ate Gold Star chili and this week cause I was going WAY over the fat grams.

I like Alli because it's safe and it can help me thing do I really want something with more than 15 grams of fat.

Alli is the only weight loss aid I would use at all.

I have taken Alli in the past and know quite a bit how it acts/reacts in my body. Alli WILL work if you do the entire program it recommends. The yucky side effects usually occur when you go off plan. So, the user has almost complete control over the effects. Simply exercising and improving your diet will work--of course!!! However, Alli will give you an edge and for me it encouraged me to carry on when the normal 1 pound a week )or possibly 2) could have discouraged me. I am okay with losing my pound a week now as I am much closer to goal.

The big ALLI diet book is at Dollar Stores across the country. Whether or not you are on ALLI, I would strongly suggest getting a copy. There is wonderful information inside.

from what i understand it is important to know that first you should not take anything for weight loss if you suffer from depression/bipolar at all.. this could cause serious problems. also many of these pills only conatin high amounts of caffeine. now i have tried just about everything and i will tell you that none of it works the way they claim.. when you can feel your heart racing that is not a good thing... any who... so be careful and dont expect much ( they even say results not typical in advertising) your best bet is to suck it up and just go at it the tough way.. cut back of calorie/carb/fat and exercise.. that way you are making permanent life changes instead of changes based on a pill...
