I just can't believe, sometimes, how awesome I feel every day. My body feels great, I'm full of more energy than I know what to do with, and my mood is totally joyful. While, really, some of the circumstances of my life majorly suck still, just like they did before I started changing my diet and life! It's pretty amazing, and it's all about simple healthy food, good plentiful sleep, and a reasonable quantity of exercise. AMAZING.

Today I went to Applebee's for lunch with a couple of people from work. It is really one of my weaknesses normally (I usually want the Chicken Penne Pasta- which is a big dish). Today I was content with a spinach salad and soup. I am finding it's getting easier to make better choices.

Very inspirational. My NSVs--My fiancee told me I was HOT and my engagement ring is way too loose.

I went to Old Navy yesterday and tried on clothes there--first time I've ever done that at that store in my life. I fit into some size 16 jeans. They looked awful, totally wrong for my body type, but they fit. Was size 24-ish before starting this journey.

So, I've never been able to wear clothes out of "trendy" stores (Abercrombie, Charlotte Russe, American Eagle, Aeropostale, and so on). I mean never, not once, even in Jr. High.
Awhile back my Mom found a pair of Aeropostale jeans in her closet that were too big for her now (I had to point out this fact, they were falling off her! She's been losing weight too :) ). She gave the jeans to me because by that time, I had lost 50-60lbs and she thought I might fit in them. They couldn't even get up my thighs! So, flash-forward to today, I'm 1lb away from a 90lb loss and figured I would try those jeans on again. They fit! They're on! I can sit down in them! It's a miracle! I'm wearing jeans from a "trendy" store! Who woulda thunk it? I don't know what the size is, cause my Mom cut the tag out, but I don't care! I've attached some pictures cause I got excited and had a fashion show. One is a front view and the other is a back view because I thought my butt looked good  |
I've been doing my biggest looser Boot Camp DVD and was only doing the first camp. I tried the second one on Saturday and ended up stopping, exhausted and yelling at Bob. LOL! Today...I did it!! I had to do some of the modified exercises (my abs just aren't strong enough to do them all) but the point is I didn't stop! I felt sweaty and great when I was done!! :D

WOW foxxy511, you look smokin' hot in those jeans! I can totally relate, too... I could never fit into the "trendy" places throughout junior high/high school, either. I have distinct memories of going to the mall with my friends and being dragged into stores where I knew I wouldn't be able to fit into anything, and one time being told so explicitly by a nasty saleswoman. :( BUT I had a huge moment of triumph when I was trying on jeans at a thrift store and realized that I had put on a pair of GAP JEANS! :D It really blew my mind, hehe. Congrats on your NSV. ;)
My NSV for today is that my boss noticed my weight loss! Well actually, that's probably not the best word for it, since I think I might be at the point now where I'm sure most people have "noticed" (cuz it's been a pretty darn drastic change, or at least I'd like to think so :dizzy:) but for some reason, just in the past few weeks a lot of people have suddenly commented on it--like I'm now at the point where it's "okay" to mention it, LOL! One friend said "So. You've lost a lot of weight!" (but she's allowed to say it like that because she's very straightforward and I love her dearly for it :lol), and one of my closest male friends randomly said "By the way, you look really thin!" And then today my boss came over to me while I was doing some random task and said "Meredith, you're looking really good. You must be--dieting, or something?" And the best part is, I didn't even feel awkward about answering this question--I think I'm getting much more comfortable with it, with practice. I just said "Yep, a little bit, just trying to eat healthier and everything," (cuz seriously, I cringe at the word "diet" as a verb, LOL!), and he said "Well, it's definitely working!" To which I just replied "Thank you!" with a big grin. :D No awkwardness at all... I was shocked! Hehe. It was funny, because he almost seemed worried like I would be offended that he'd said something about it. I bet that most of those people had wanted to say something for a while (since he's a really nice guy), but they weren't sure how I'd react... I dunno why it seems to have suddenly clicked that all of a sudden they all want to tell me how great I look, but I'm certainly not complaining. |
Isn't it funny how some people are afraid to mention it? I don't know one woman is going to get offended is someone says "gee...you look thinner." LOL!!
My NSV...I got up early and exercised today!! My day always goes better when I do but it's that moment when it's dark and the alarm is going off and I DON'T want to get out of bed that is SO difficult. :P |
I, too, had to do some serious talking to myself to get up to exercise--but I did it. That is a NSV isn't it? It's a cool dreary day here and the bed was so warm!

This weekend all my size 24 jeans were in the wash and I had to go out, so I crossed my fingers and tried on a pair of 22s. I had tried them on in December and couldn't even begin to zip them. They fit! They are really ugly jeans (leftovers from the 1980s) so I won't be wearing them to work or anyplace, but they fit! I was a size 32 until September . . . :D
