OMG guys, I have the coolest NSV ever! (Well, not ever - some of you ladies have had NSVs that are waaay more impressive - but I was pretty darn psyched!) Well, I recently came home for my Winter break (woo-hoo!), and I was walking around the house when I noticed a cute-looking shirt sitting on our dining room table... It looked like something that I'd typically wear, so I wondered if maybe my mom had gotten it for me, but I looked at the tag and it was a size medium/8-10. I thought, Hmm, she must have gotten this for my sister, because my sis is much smaller than me, hehe. But I thought, Weeell, I'm wearing a size 12 in pants right now, and have usually worn a smaller size on top... So maybe this shirt WOULD fit me. Lo and behold, it does!!! It's not even tight! :D

I am simply amazed. I have never worn anything in a size medium, in my life, EVER. Not even a t-shirt, or sweatpants with an elastic waistband, or something else that typically runs big! I've never worn a medium. Because of the inconsistency in sizes, I'm sure I'm not "officially" a medium, but who cares?! This is so cool. ;)

Congratulations to everybody on their NSV's!

So I just wanted to say that I actually turned down and DID NOT EAT Chinese food and Pizza this weekend. It smelled awesome and looked delicious, but I said to myself (in my head of course) this is not worth it, those skinny jeans and feeling good about myself is going to be so much better than eating this crap will taste right now. I'm pretty proud of myself, especially when everyone around me was eating it.

I thought I didnt have a NSV to report but foxy's post reminded me --- I'M NOT SICK!!!!

I havent lost any weight in 3 months. BUT I'M NOT SICK!! (If I go by previous timing, I'm overdue to catch some virus and have it spiral into a full blown multiple sclerosis flare knocking me on my butt).

I think losing the weight, eating right and exercise has helped me learn to be really aware of how my body is feeling -- allowing me to take extra precaution when I feel run down... instead of ignoring it and waking up one day unable to function. woo hoo not sick!!

I went to the doctor this week, and when they checked my blood pressure it was 120/67. I know that's not awesome yet, but it's pretty damn awesome for me because last year it was 137/90. Woohoo!!

Meredith congrats on a MEDIUM - holy cow I will faint when that happens for me. I seriously don't think I've ever worn a medium anything either! That's so cool!

Justforme - that is a great NSV - resisting temptation when it's right there in front of you is a hard skill to learn, you did awesome!

All the other NSVs are looking sweet also! Keep it up!!

Today just for the heck of it I decided to try on a pair of pants that a couple of months ago I couldn't even get up over my legs let alone zip....now I can actually wear them! :)

NSV for my hubby: In bed yesterday, I had my arm over my husband's chest, and his sternum was poking me...not uncomfortably, but noticeably. I swear I do not recall that he had a sternum that was so poky!

Also I find that I am noticing my underlying bones and muscles much more lately. I was at the sink working on dishes, and my triceps were very noticeable, just by looking at them...without flexing or anything. Ditto my thigh muscles this morning while getting ready for work, I noticed in the mirror. And I think I felt hip bones really clearly over the weekend.

It's neat. A little weird because I haven't been losing scale weight and I don't see an overall visual difference when I look in the mirror, but definitely neat.

Since we've been trying to get a lot more veggies in our family diet, we have now discovered that our veggie-phobic middle son actually really likes roasted brussels sprouts, and sweet potato (baked) fries. He eats them willingly! And this is a child who we couldn't get any veggies into a few months ago. So that's really huge for us as a family; we're making a lot of progress in eating healthfully together.

I went to the endo today for the follow up after my pregnancy. I had gestational diabetes but it has completely gone. I'm still slightly insulin resistant (but I was before I was pregnant) but not enough that he felt I needed to go back on the metformin!

Okay, Lifeguard....I didn't know you had the baby! When, weight/length/name please....and, I'd love to see pics if you care to share. :D Congratulations, Mommy!

Dumplin 12-20-2008 02:18 AM

i did not know Lifeguard had her baby either! How did everything go?

:clause:Rhonda how have you been doing? Good to see you again!

My nsv is that I am happy to say I am still in my size 18's even though I have messed up more than I should have lately!

smnolen 12-20-2008 05:46 AM

I know I am new, but I have a NSV!

My scrubs that I bought for work are too big!! But I don't want to buy more because I will only be here for another year... I will teach after that. Plus, I want to save my money for REAL clothes!

I had him on October 25th at 5:20am. He was 20" & 8lb 9oz - yesterday at his 8 week check he was 14lbs!!! He's growing like crazy & nice healthy sized boy! You can take a peek at my blog if you wish - I posted my birth story there. I had a great OB & despite the gestational diabetes & being in a hospital I had a pretty low intervention natural birth. Unfortunately I tore pretty severely & so my recovery has been much slower than I had anticipated. Sorry - no pics - DH is a little internet paranoid - lol!

Today I went to the gym & put the little guy in child care for the first time. It went pretty well, although I timed it wrong & had to go breastfeed him in the middle of my squats - lol.

I started the New Rules of Lifting for Women today, so I'm excited about that.

My husband is...as I type this...5 feet away from me devouring a pint of Ben and Jerry's coffee ice cream....my favorite.

I am calmly and defiantly eating my 86 calorie orange for my nighttime snack.

My NSV is that I haven't lunged over and gouged his eyeballs out with one hand, while stealing the ice cream with the other.

Its really taking major willpower.

Oh I love it. That made me laugh my butt off!!! I'm sorry he's so insensitive but good for you for not killing him ;)
