I received a huge gift box of chocolates yesterday. Before, I would have tore open the package and scarfed it down. Instead I brought it home (still wrapped) and have put it away until I know I can treat myself to a small piece.

For years I've been thinking that the hubby is shrinking. When we sit next to each other I kept getting taller and taller. He's short waisted and I'm long waisted so I thought that was part of it. I noticed the other day that now I'm shorter than him when sitting again. It dawned on me that my butt is shrinking and that all that padding I was sitting on was what was making me taller:rofl:

I zipped up my coat and it fits!!!!! I have owned this coat for 3 years and it hasn't ever come close to being able to zip. Today it ZIPPED all the way and I have a little bit of extra room.:cheer2:

Congratulations!!! Running is my Achilles' heel. I always feel good after I've done it, but doing it is SO HARD. Way to go taking it up again!

Thanks zerocool :) I feel the same way, it's a love/hate thing. In the Army I had to run now that I know I can do it I WANT to run. I'm shooting for a 5K in the spring.

Awesome NSV's! I have a few:

1. I put another notch in my belt that I wear with my uniform for work.

2. Coworkers and I were in a festive mood last week, listening to the Christmas music coming out of the airport PA system. "Christmas Macarena" came on and, corny or not, we all started doing it. In the end, when you turn and jump at the same time, I did just that; before, I could turn, but definitely not jump! Now I can! And I didn't get tired.

3. Sort of an NSV - I mentioned a while ago that I was doing the aptitude test for the RCMP. Joining the RCMP was my goal when I decided to lose weight two years ago, and I am now finally at the stage where I can go for it and actually apply. Today, four weeks later, I got my results and passed the test...I was sent an application package, so I am now "officially" in the application pool and past the first stage! If I progress further I'm going to have to do a fitness test with running up and down stairs, jumping over obstacles, and carrying heavy objects. Just what all this exercise and weightlifting the past two years were for!

Ooh... well done! :cheer2: I was wondering how you got on.

I found a pair of jeans that I owned in a bigger size on the clearance rack today. I wore the old ones to shreds and have downsized a bit too much to wear them anymore. Size 6! That's some CRAZY vanity sizing, but still - how exciting! The original pair was size 14 and I was super stoked about that. This is crazy madness. I have never worn a size 6 in my life, not even before I gained all that weight.

On a side note: Why do they have to vanity size??? No way I'm truly a size six, that's not happening at my current shape.

Imma frame the tag or something! Because I'm sure that's the only time it will happen in my life! Size 8's are perfectly cool with me. I am a skeptic and don't think I'll ever, ever be a real size 6.

Fit into a smaller outfit today. It's the first time I've been able to get into it in 9 years.

My son had his soccer christmas party at chucky cheese tonight. As everyone sat around eating this yummy looking pizza and pop, I hit the salad bar. Even the salad bar had some traps in it, all kinds of grated cheeses, bacon bits, diced ham, lots of things with mayo. I stuck with a huge plate of the raw lettuce and veggies with low fat dressing.

This is a huge milestone for me, normally I would eat a whole medium pizza to myself.

Thanks DishyFishy! :)

hey Ookpik, that's so cool, I'm so happy for you. Doesn't it feel great to know you are taking charge and making it happen?:bravo:

Ookpik 12-12-2008 04:07 PM

Thanks, H8cake, it feels great! I am finally going for it, at nearly 38 (but I'm in the best shape of my life!)!

I tried on a winter jacket I liked three weeks ago and I could not get the zipper done up. Tonight I tried it on again and I can get it done up with room to spare! So of course I had to buy it :)
