My clothes that fit range in size from 10 to 18 in pants. It's frustrating. I'm wearing some old 16s (jeans) right now for some dirty house cleaning jobs, and they're falling off of me, but I have other 16s (jeans) that are too tight to wear in public. I am a pear shape, and pants that fit my waist don't even tend to want to come up over my huge butt and hips. So, all of my pants have a gap at the waist. I wear mediums and larges on top, though even there, I have a small that is very loose. Women's clothing sizes are incredibly frustrating, in my experience.
I'm 5'3" tall
Starting at 236: a tight 18, probably could have used a 20 Tops were XL or 1X.
Now I'm 188 and a tight 14/comfortable 14, depending on manufacturer (LOVE Denver Hayes clothes by Mark's Work Wearhouse). Tops are usually a large or medium)
It is a bit deceptive as I tried on a pair of size 18 pants this morning and they were very snug (from a young misses store?) I have other size 16 and size 18 pants from the misses section in other stores and they fit very nicely. I even have some size 14 misses that fit. I have size 14/16 misses fitted tops that fit nicely as well but I wear a size L misses top.
So I like to say that I'm a misses size L on top and a misses size 16 on the bottom.
I haven't worn plus size clothes since I weighed 240
At my highest weight (340), I was in size 32 jeans and 30/32 tops.
At my current weight (313), I wear size 26 bottoms (sometimes 24, depending on cut and stretch!) and 22/24 tops (sometimes 18/20 tops, depending).
I can't wear pants that are too straight because I have chubby thighs and calves. Boot cut or flared legs look best on me right now.I try to stick to skirts that are knee-length or ankle length (nothing short!)
I'm def an apple-shaped girl! I've got a big belly compared to other body parts. I am lucky though in the fact that I do have a definite waist!
I am 5'8"; I started at 278lbs - in size 24/26 3X.
I am currently 194lbs, and wearing mostly 16's, a few 14's. Tops from regular stores, L/XL. I am at a weird in-between size now - between plus size and regular... argh!
At my highest (180 pounds thereabouts) I was in a bursting at the seams Aussie 14 (US 10) I'm 5'6 and definitely a pear...huge thighs and hips :P
At my current weight of 143 pounds I'm an Australian 8-10 (US 4-6) usually smaller on top and larger on the bottom.
On a side note - when in the grips of an eating disorder and weighing 110 pounds I was still a size 8 or sometimes a 6 if I could get them (US 4 or 2)...go figure! I love muscles
At 292 I was a 24 on the bottom and at least 2X on top. It varied a lot but that's a pretty good average.
Now at 5'10" and 208, I'm into all 16's and generally a large on top unless something runs weirdly small.
I feel pretty lucky that I tend to gain weight all over and lose all over. I don't have any specific trouble spots or a shape that makes clothes fit strangely.
I am 5'4.
At 206 I was wearing 14's and headed for 16.
Now at 169 I can fit in 10 pants and some 8's (if I decided not to breathe - haha).
Always large tops though, seem heavier on top.
I'm 5'9 and weigh 243. I'm 20 on the bottom and 18 on top. Right now I'm a bit bottom heavy--that's just the way it's coming off--but I'm usually the same size top&bottom. I'm blessed with a good figure, it's just bigger than average!
Women's clothing sizes are incredibly frustrating, in my experience.
I have to agree! One of my goals is to fit into a size 8, and yet at 5'9" and 158 lbs., I can sometimes fit into a size 10 pair of jeans, but definitely comfortably into a 12. I gotta admit that I am a little envious of the women who are shorter than I am, weigh more than I do, and can fit into a size 8 (although at the same time I'm also proud of everyone who loses weight!). If I can't fit into a 10 now, how low do I have to go to fit into a size 8? And I'm starting to get a gap at the waist when I put on a pair of pants. Frustrating, very frustrating.
