I think I'll be okay. I want to lose weight more than I want Halloween candy.....if only I could bottle that motivation for harder days!!

We'll have dinner before we take the kids trick or treating. I'm making eyeball tacos for the kids (meatballs with a touch of sour cream and a slice of black olive lined up in a taco shell) so I'll plan a lovely salad to go along side and use ground turkey.

I do love candy! But I'm very fortunate that I have a kid to old to trick-or-treat and I live in an apartment complex where no trick-or-treating seems to happen. If it did I would go with the advice to buy stuff you don't like.

WOOOO HOOOO!!! I bought 1 bag of candy this year. I had several last night and 1 tonight and gave the rest to my kids. THEN... for the trick or treaters... I bought a big sack of Play-Doh minis and another big sack of Halloween pencils and a few 6 packs of Jones Soda Co little 8 oz sodas in nasty flavors like Candy Corn. The kids think those are awesome and I know I won't touch them. I feel ready!

I just realized that I'm working from 4:30pm - 9pm on halloween, and DH is at work too! Bonus, no candy here!

I cannot believe this! LOL...Are you crazy girl? I am not planning on eating anything besides Ensure and some applesauce for a few days post-op...maybe a little yogurt, although I am very picky about not having sugar of any kind in my yogurt so it has to be plain. I am trying to cut sugar out entirely from my diet...I don't drink soda since I never liked the stuff in the first place so that is not a problem...I just have to be careful of artificially sweetened foods because I don't want them in my body either! I am also trying to get more veggies in...I had a wonderful sweet potato and some zucchini last night

Strangely enough candy does not hold any allure for me this Halloween. I was born the morning after Halloween and my Mom was eating Reese's PB cups from my older brother's trick-or-treating loot the night before she gave birth to me. Hmmm...I wonder why I used to like them so much!

Good luck with Halloween...I think you have an excellent plan!

Oh, and I'm Jen by the way. I'm new here and haven't really had time to explore too much yet.

Lally,

We do something quite similar. The kids sell us whatever they don't want. Last year, we had a "store" of a few toys available to them immediately. This year, we might hand them the money and then head out to their favorite store -- Target -- for a shopping spree. Since my kids always have their little Target lists, I think they will probably sell us a good amount this year.

okay I might be bonged off this board LOL but girls I just don't trust myself around candy AT ALL ha! So I'm not buying any at all. My kids (including DF LOL) all know if they want candy they can have it but they just can't bring it home. You know, "I don't wanna see it" type thing. I'm doing so well, I just know that would be a major setback, so I'm gonna hafta pass on that temptation this year.
