Default Surviving a Bachelorette Party (without regret)

Ok, so I am attending a fabulous bachelorette party this weekend for a friend of mine. Her maid of honor has arranged for us to go to Catalina Island, go to the spa and then dinner and "clubbing." We spend the night there and then fun in the sun the next day.

I have a few "bar survival skills" for dieting.

*My first drink is a gin & tonic (with lime). I can sip it and when it's done, I can ask for seltzer water. It looks just like my G&T and therefore no one bugs me about drinking. You can also do this with rum & diet coke and refill with diet coke.

*Dance - stay away from the bar.

I was hoping other might have some ideas they would like to share. How can I survive this weekend without a GAIN!?!

And I'm getting a 50 minute swedish massage at the spa... I am soooo excited.

Have fun. That sounds great. And I would kill for a massage right now.

I'm sure you know this but stay away from high sugar drinks and mixers and cream/ ice cream drinks. Beer can have a lot of calories too.

I normally stick with diet coke and wiskey or rum, or diet tonic and gin. Wine is a good choice, plus you normally drink that slow. The switching it with tonic and diet pop is also a trick I've used. I also got one drink and just sipped it for hours, this works better with beer because people don't see the ice melt, and everytime somone ask if I want a drink I say "oh no thanks I just go this one". Lastly avoid shot!

However after saying all that you might just want to let yourself have a free night. It wont kill you to do it once in a while as long as you don't make a habit of it. I'm having a big reunion with a bunch of my friends that I haven't see in a year and I just said that it's a free night.

Oooohhh... sounds like fun!!! I didn't know there were dance clubs on Catalina Island... it's so pretty there. Yes - dance, dance, dance! I forget all about drinking when I'm dancing. And now that I'm watching my calories, I realize when my friends around me are drinking (and I'm sipping Diet Coke to save calories), I get this weird "tipsy" feeling from the whole social/bar setting. I don't even miss the alcohol. Maybe you can just convince your brain that you're getting looped! Have a great time!!!

Sounds like fun! I thought this thread was going to be about staying faithful to your SO!

What spa are you going to? Have you had a lot of massage? Speak up for yourself to get what you want from the massage-(more or less pressure, more work on specific areas etc.) don't be shy!
