Default Stupid binges

Ok, I have 1 week of WW down, and well over 100 #'s to lose, but I'm so mad at myself. On one hand I thought this isn't so bad, I was doing well, then I binged on .....of all things....tomato juice. Now, I love tomato juice/tomatoes to a fault, but if I was gonna binge, you'd think I'd have picked something better, lol. Oh well, back on the wagon again. The containers I had held 6 cups each and I drank 2 of them (so 12 cups), and today I've gained back all I lost this week. Ughh....

Just venting. Has anyone binged on something stupid like this before?

I think everyone here has done something irrational at one time or another... but don't call yourself stupid over it. If you just get back on plan right now (not tomorrow, not May 1st, etc.) you will be fine. And also, even when you're not doing so well, keep logging it into WW. It's amazing how much you instantly feel back "in control"... and I've been surprised sometimes at how minor my set-backs really were. Good luck!!

Pigging out on tomato juice? I thought tomatoes and tomato juice were "free" foods on weight watchers?? I'm doing South Beach and have been having episodes of bingeing as well. It's usually whole grain crackers or sugar free pudding, but it's too much. I hate thinking of dieting. I like to think I am eating better. Who knows?

It's never good to feel out of control with food, but I just wanted to say I seriously doubt that you really gained back however much weight you lost.

I'm not sure if it was plain tomato juice or V-8 or whatever, but Fitday estimates your total damage there as 660 calories. Binging isn't good, but those calories don't even add up to 1/5 of a lb.

Liquid is very heavy, though, and 12 cups of it probably weigh a few pounds. You might've been retaining some of that fluid, *especially* if the sodium count in the tomato juice was high. In other words, that higher number on the scale might be the juice itself -- *not* weight you gained back because of it alone.

Hope this helps reframe things a little -- keep going! Don't get discouraged.

Thanks Desiderata! I wasn't thinking of that...now that you mention it, I do feel bloated and my ankles are puffy....so I think your on to something.

Regardless, I got back on the horse and had an awesome day today.

Cybergypsy - I could never do grapefruit...what's your secret to make it not bitter? Barb, I'm with you on the pudding!

Wow...I really wanted a binge today after work. I was trying to think of what to eat and when it came down to it I went and got a pedicure/manicure instead. I was so proud of myself that I am looking forward to my scale victory in the morning.

I try to control the bingeing and think about how I can reward myself in other ways. I also try to stay away from home until dinner time to keep from bingeing.

I am by no means perfect but these things have worked recently.

I have also allowed myself on "treat" meal a week. This week I will travel to another city for shopping and stop at the Chilis.
