Just got back from my hash run. It was 5 miles in the company of...drunks. But that's the fun. And I ran home afterwards (seems silly to walk home when you are already in your running gear). So a total of 10 miles ran today. Nice.
Last night I added on:
Tamillee Webb Total Body Stretch (standing)
3 sections from Hip Pain (SI Joint) from Yoga for Stress Relief
Ha Ha I am the only person who can show a gain from a simple salad! Crazy body! I normally order my protein/veggies grilled/steamed plain. I'm sure the salad and fixings had more salt than I normally have. I know my calories were good since I only ate a very small amount of the dressing.
Calories for yesterday: 1400 +
Weigh In: 168
Up: .8
W 167.8 still creeping up
B spaghtti squash with sauce, feta and chicken sausage
L lentil soup

I'm in a cleaning/organizing mood. We got the AC units out of the windows, I sorted out the unused clothes for kids and myself. The yard needs some work. I need to ride this energy boost while it's here! Ha!
You guys must be enjoying your Friday evenings. I ended up making myself salad rolls with what I had on hand and the results were pretty nasty. Haha! Now I am going to have to buy proper ingredients to redeem myself.
Cals 1278, including the glass of merlot I am sipping.
CoolMom75, the lingo does take some getting used to. But the general idea is you meet up somewhere with a group of (mostly) strangers. You pay a small fee (to cover the beer and snacks provided). "Hares" set a trail marked by arrows, checks and false trails marked in chalk. The group then sets off following the trail. You follow the arrows. Checks are circles and indicate the route can go off in any direction and the runners have to find out which. False trails are dead ends where you have to go back to find the true trail.
So it's a running game really with beer provided at the end and sometimes half way through. It's pretty social and the language used can be bad. I like it because I like running with other people. I like drinking beer. And the stop-start nature of the run is good too. Because you get breaks which helps cater for runners (and even walkers) of all speeds.
Here's me last night with bright shorts and (it appears) a big belly:
Anyway, down 1.4lbs today to 173.6lb. Breakfast was kippers, smoked oysters and a bowl of oats. Lunch was salmon, squid, smoked oysters and cockles with my usual.
For exercise, I did 50 minutes weight training before work and ran 4 miles before lunch.
It sounds fun! I'm desperate for some kind of group fitness activity, not in a gym. I tried a hiking meet-up but my mind is way ahead of my physical ability. They cruised and I just held them back. No way I could run five miles so probably not for me. But I'm on the look out.
You should try boxing/boxercise (non-nasty contact) CoolMom75 or perhaps kickboxing or karate. These are good workouts because they have to cater for people of all abilities and allow you to advance at your own pace.
They also have practical application
Find a boxercise class, you won't regret it.
This is where I train and my trainer Mike showing how to use one piece of equipment there...the boxmaster:
Well, I was really hard on the salad this morning. I blamed it for the .8 gain that I had. I might have to re-think this since TTOM showed up again today.
Ian What a fun picture! Thank you for sharing!

Ian, he looks like a good trainer. The kids and I are going to do taekwondo in a few months but I crave outdoor activity where the fitness happens but is not the focus. Having fun, socializing and getting fresh air. Hiking, biking, rowing without the need for speed.
I was just talking with a client the other day about birds. I used to see so many types when I was a child and now it seems as though a lot have migrated away. I hardly ever see a blue jay, cardinal, or wood pecker but when I was a child it was fairly common. I never see monarch butterflies anymore either.
novangel I do not see monarch butterflies either. wonder what happened to them. I do see birds where I live though. The woodpecker was back trying to get something from my air conditioner again today. It is SO sweet Ian, great photo. Sounds like fun CoolMom, I know all about those days when good culinary ideas have bad tasting results. Grace. I hope August is doing better. And that you are getting a lot of much needed support
Hi To everyone. I read the posts. But cannot write more right now. I will blame it on Yom Kippor.
Thursday and Friday were not diet days. So I have to make sure to be very good Saturday. I am sure it will not be a problem. No need to go into the details of what I ate. None of it was impulse eating. Nor was the amount alarming. The bittersweet Belgian chocolate was as good as I remember. I DO worry about my diligence eroding. I kept such a tight control for so long. Until the beginning of June. Saturday will be a low calorie day. I hope you all have a good Saturday. Sending light
Breakfast was fresh sardines, medium stickleback, smoked herring and smoked oysters with oats. Lunch was baby squid, anchovies, smoked oysters and a crab cake.
For exercise, I ran 4 miles before breakfast and did 1 hour weight training before lunch. I also mowed the lawn.
I should lose tomorrow but I have not had a BM today, so I'll probably be in for a big gain because I eat so much.
