Default Do you change your ticker if you gain a little?

Hi all. So I gained 2lbs over the holidays and have one more day at my parents and one more party to go. I intend to be on plan for those though. Now I can't decide whether or not to change my ticker to reflect the gain. I hope to be back down to ticker weight in ten days. On the one hand I think "if I put it up, I'll have the satisfaction of putting it down again." (I do enjoy that) and "it would be more honest." on the other I think "it's just two pounds and fluctuations are part of the game. I can't change it for every blip." now I'm not asking you to answer this question for me. I'm just wondering, what do you do?

I wouldn't change my ticker for anything less than a five pound gain. I frequently fluctuate a couple of pounds during any given time.

I don't change my ticker back up either... once I get to the loss, I count it! Fluctuations are normal, and I know I am staying on plan.

I weigh myself every morning. If I changed my ticker for every fluctuation, it would drive me nuts.

As long as I stay within a 2+/- range I don't change it. If it is up more than 2 I double check my food tracker and wait a few days. Usually it's water weight and goes away!

I don't change it. If I have seen the weight and recorded it on my ticker, I know I will see it again on the scale very shortly. Even if I've gained water weight/sodium bloat etc.

I would only change my ticker if it was a difference of 3-4 pounds or more. I frequently bounce up and down, so I'd be changing my ticker every other day!

Occasionally I do, but usually I don't. The last time I had a big gain, I left the ticker as it was and changed my signature to "getting back to my ticker weight" so it was kind of a goal. I weigh myself every day, but have my "official" weekly weight too, so if I'm going to change my ticker, I only do it after my weekly weigh-day. I'm currently 3 pounds above my ticker weight, and back in the "overweight BMI". UGH!!

Nope, I don't change for gains. I gained a pound over Christmas but I'm leaving it at 128lbs. I'm going on a scale break for the month of January so it will be staying at that for the next month.

I don't change it either. I also don't change it on the website I keep track of my calories on. They have a section where you input your weight, I only put losses up, whether that's a few days later or a few weeks, so it's a steady downward slope on the graph instead of ups and downs.

I slide it back up if I accept that I've gone off plan for a bit and need to re-engage. Otherwise, if I feel I'm on a general downward trend, I leave it alone.

I only change it if it's 5 lbs or more, because weight constantly fluctuates!

I change my ticker every Sunday, regardless of whether it goes up or down. It's part of my weekly weigh in routine now.

I would have to change mine up and down every month during THAT TIME if I reflected small gains. I have moved mine up when I've fallen off the wagon and gained weight back - I think 5 pounds or more like someone else said is probably a good rule.

I do the same every Wednesday, as it's my official weigh-in day. I like my ticker to be accurate for the week!

I think I'd go nuts if I tried to change it according to daily fluctuations.

This for me too. I've only slid it back up once since I started losing and it was after coming off of a very short lived low carb thing I tried, I lost 8 pounds in 7 days and when I came off of it I gained back 6.6 of that 8. I knew I only was down 8 pounds because of water weight and that the re-gain was legit and was going to take a while to lose again. I definitely never changed it because I was up one pound!
