Interesting thread as you are the same height as me!
My goAl weight is 140
Im quite "broad" though, Wide frame, Hour glass frame, carry alot of weight on my legs .
Once im there i will decide if i need to go down more or maintain there .i MIGHT try to do 131 so i can say ive lost 100lbs- but thats my "competitive" side!!!) TBH i look ok at 160 so i have plenty of wiggle room!
My aim is to be on this diet for a year, so ive got to next march. hopefully by then i will have worked out what works & how to maintain sensibly!
I carry alot of weight on my thighs too! And arms...and stomac...lol. But I have big thighs that drive me nuts. 131 sounds great to me too, but I want to see how everything turns out in the next 30 pounds.
Whoa, that is a big difference!! I weighed 145 once, and then gained weight. I had worked out madly to get it. Then I went on the Atkins and got to 150-155 (didnt work out, felt weak, and got to that weight in only two weeks. But Atkins made me feel soooo sick). And the difference was huge between what I had been when I was that same weight from going slow and working out. So slow and steady and hard work it is!
Basically, there were 3 pictures of me from left to right 1. 185lbs many years ago without exercising much 2. 190-194lbs (I fluctuate a lot) WITH lifting and 3. 175lbs with a little exercise but no lifting (wearing pretty much the same clothes that I fit into today at the high 180's).
As for your goal weight question... I'm also really focusing on the higher end of my BMI. My main goal is to get to 155lbs so I'm exactly at the highest end of my BMI. Healthy-wise I'm pretty much in perfect shape (I just had a lot of blood tests done a couple of weeks ago and my hip-to-wait ratio/waist size/mile time are all in the "healthy range" even though by BMI I'm still obese). However, I have ovarian cysts and they seems to show up when I'm overweight no matter how healthy I am otherwise.
My "goal" weight says 140 but that's just because it would be really cool to lose 100lbs and I was 140 in high school and remember being very happy with my body then. I was pretty athletic back then (although I wasn't lifting) and, honestly, I think it'd be pretty hard for me to get below that weight and actually maintain it. So in principle my goal is probably between 140-155lbs and also I have inches goals too because I went to be at or below 38/28/40 for bust/waist/hips (and this is what matters much more than what the scale says).

I think im just aiming for 140, then seeing if i Can/Need to go lower. theres so MANY people freaking out already (because im saying " oh i need to lose the same again")

I am 5'7 and my goal weight is 180...lol. I was told by my doctor that I have a super large bone structure and 180 would be a good weight for me. I would really look sick if I was in the 150's I think.
You can't know until you get there sadly. Every person is different. I remember being gorgeous at 130 so I strive towards there, but things might have changed and it might be less or more.
What you can do is find your normal weight-bmi range and once you hit that top of normal you check out what weight within that range suits you.
The reason I say this is because health comes first. Don't go too low or stay too high.
Most of us won't ever look like a victoria secret model, because that just isn't the way most women are built, but there is a weight at which you will look the best so don't compare.
