OMG Chickies!

I am so stoked! I just tested my blood sugar and it was......107! Which is NORMAL! Also about 45 min ago I drank 8 oz of Juice. Its the Old Orchard Berry Blend. So I kinda wanted to "test the waters" and see what would happen and vola! I am NORMAL! I guess Diet, exercise and portion/drink size makes a HUGE difference! No wonder I FEEL so good right now too! I am NORMAL! YAY ME! FYI:"The American Diabetes Association recommends the following blood glucose guidelines for non-pregnant women: 70-130 mg/dL before meals and less than 180 mg/dl 1-2 hours after the start of a meal."

Anywho just had to share!!

Good morning, all and a Happy Saturday too!

Of course I don't know what is so happy about it, just sounded good

SASSY...yay to being normal! Wish I could say I am normal, lol Funny you mention a puppy...I am missing having a dog around and said I want to get a dog. DD said "Do you really want to have to deal with a puppy right now with Lily?" The answer was a big fat NO! WTG on the 1 mile walk!

SUSAN...Lily is a kick to have around...funny how we go to having another little human being around. Guess I never thought I would ever be a grandma and it's kinda weird sometimes when I think about it. How long are you going to be in Hawaii? Sorry, can't remember if you mentioned it or not. How's Miss Gaby doing? Well, don't work too hard!

Hello to KATHY, FRANCIE, JULES, ANNE, MINDEE, SUE, and KATY Hoping all is well with you in your little corner of the world.

Well, I have absolutely nothing planned for the day. Seriously thinking about heading to the park for a walk, not sure. It's cool today and cloudy but not sure I want to venture out. I did walk every day so not so worried about working out on the weekend but...I do plan a dvd or two since most of what I did was walk. Need to throw something in there to mix it up a bit. Anyway...have some laundry to do and hoping to get lots of reading done. Thought I would read the whole Little House on the Prairie series since I loved those books growing up (DS loaned his to me) but reading the first one I feel kinda silly and it's not really doing anything for me, lol. But I will plug along and at least read the first and the second and see how it goes. Maybe throw a different book in between. Anywho...have a wonderful weekend all!

Cheers and Here's to normal! Haha...I am afraid I don't know what that is.

Little cloudy and cool here today. I have done nothing but play online all morning. Now I need to get ready for Mason's little birthday bash...lol.

Mom and I went out yesterday to go to the garage sales that were the big deal..50 miles worth. It was so windy we couldn't stand it and everyone was chasing down their items. We stopped at several right in our area and nothing appealed to us. Seems most had put out some pretty junky stuff. We decided we are too old to try to fight the crowds....didn't enjoy it at all. Sooooo, we stopped for lunch. HAha...When all else fails go to lunch!

We did stop and get my annuals , so that is what I did when we got home. Planted 2 flats. Oh, my were my legs and back sore today from that. I heard it thunder in the night, jumped up to shut my window and just about fell to the floor..pain in my back and up the back of my legs. It is feeling better now, but sure was a shock! I forget at times that I am not so limber as to get up and down and crawl around on the ground. Darn old age! But the flowers look good today after the rain. Kind of small and spindly, but I know in a couple weeks they will be great!

Cristina- I see you deleted your games on FB...I got rid of some awhile back. Still have my farms, island and town, but am thinking about losing an island and a farm. I need a little something to do at night. But I know I spend too much time on there. I should get back into reading more. Or maybe I will dump them all and just do word games...keep my brain sharp (as if it is already sharp)

Sassy- Oh yay..you are the normal one. I always wondered what normal looked like. LMAO. I am glad you are though..and glad you are in better spirits. Have a good week-end.

Susan- I forget when you are leaving..but I know you will have wonderful trip. I had to laugh out loud about your bacon escapade. I must admit, I would NOT tell if I got food out of the trash. (not that I would ever get food out of the trash, uh-uh, no way...ha)

Have a good week-end girlies and try to PLAY a little. It helps relieve the stress.

Just checking back before signing off...

HIYA SUE...a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to little Mason today! Have fun at the BD party. Oh, I haven't deleted the games...just can't access them unless I give them my email address. Don't like that they gave an ultimatum ya know...I thought it was our choice if we wanted to but I guess not. So am undecided about giving it up...don't need more junk in my mailbox. Someone got a hold of it not too long ago and I get about 30 spam everday sometimes more. Have a good day!

Just remembered today is May 1..another month upon us already. Have a good one ladies!

I posted yesterday but it's not here???????

I guess I will try again and hopefuly this one sticks.

Teri and JR broke up...and then got back together...they are getting married next year...Still waiting for baby...Tonia is have false labor pains quite often but nothing sticking...they have her freaked out cause the baby is measuring small but the ultrasound shows bigger...Dominic is still the highlight of my life. Mom is adjusting to life at the nursing home..she's having more bad days then good. She told my brother she knows shes not going to get better shes ready to go.

Work was talking layoffs, but my lady is staying and two of the vp's no longer have jobs and another one is gone in June along with the president...a real shakeup...but they were not making the best decisions for the company and laying off us peons weren't going to change that...talk of a merger another company..the one we work with in Boise. Don't know if I will have a job when all is said and done at the big meeting in June. If I am laid off I am going back to school for Nursing and go from there. Lots of grants for school out there these days.

I am on the work computer so can't really talk too long.

It's good to see you Jules! Takes a special kind of person to be a nurse, I bet you would be a great one, I don't think I could do it myself.

Hawaii is May 18th to the 25th, it just a week, scraping to get vacation time for 32 hrs that I will be gone, I have 31.18...lol, I'll get another 8 before I go.

Oh, and Rach is suppose to visit in the next 2 weeks, can't wait, I miss her.

anyway- chat more later!! to everyone.

Happy Sunday, all...

SUSAN...glad Rach is going to be visiting, hope you guys have fun. It sucks when the kids are so far away. DS is moving out on the 15th and while he will be close I know I will miss him. It's time for him to but still...the house will be too quiet. Enjoy Hawaii as I know you will!

JULES...good to see you posting lady. And lots of hugs to you and yours So are Ryan and SO still going with Ashton Spencer? Did I get that right, lol? For some reason I am thinking it is another A name. Well, glad Teri and JR worked things out. Nursing is good to get into, always a demand.

Hello to everyone else

Nothing much going on today...it is Sunday after all...a day of rest right? Lol and I am getting plenty.

Tomorrow is WI for me and I'm not looking forward to it. I started the week off good with the eating but not sure I ended so good. We'll see...but I did get some exercise M-F so...as long as I don't show a gain all will be fine. Anyway...going to go find something for lunch and read the newspaper and most likely watch some stupid movies.

Have a great Sunday!

Jules- I was thinking of medical assistant myself, it is a year course. Or maybe Pharmacy Tech, there is another housekeeper that did that. I sure as heck know I don't what to stay where I am at but I don't want to give up the almost 2 yrs that I have been there. And I did think of some of the office jobs but I earn more doing what I am dong because of the shift difference I get. Anyway,Dominic sure is a handsome little boy. You're so lucky to get another baby in the family!

Cristina- how was WI? Rach will only be here a short time. Coming the Friday before I leave (Tuesday- 5/18) and taking her GED test and taking the drivers test while she is in Oregon, she'll leave Monday. I don't know how I will see her since I have to work til Sunday and I promised Gab to go on her field trip Monday. Told G we could just go into PDX and skip the ftrip but Gab said no....lol, turd.

anyway, I better get off this computer!! Been on too long.

to everyone!!!

We played a little Sunday. Popped in to the casino for a couple hours. I won..I actually WON a little bit of cash. First time in a long time....

Today is a beautiful day. We have the windows open and the fountain going. Sounds so lovely. I am folding clothes in front of the window (well, not quite this minute...) Laundry and bedclothes day. I also cleaned the laundry room.

Getting ready to go ride the bike for a few, trying to get my legs back in shape. Walked with DH two days, but missed yesterday. Hoping he wants to walk with me later.

I am making broccoli soup for dinner...just something light. We have been eating way too heavily.

Sorry to not be too chatty, feeling down about a few things..will work itself out I am sure. *fingers crossed*

Sue - Are you in Vegas? The hospital makes the best broccoli soup, it's creamy though so wonder about the calories. hope you are feeling better. I have an hour before I pick up Gaby so chat more later!

NO, not in Vegas..I wish. They put in a casino/racetrack not more than 10 minutes from our home.

I am not sure of the calories of the soup...it is a mix that was in a gift package...have heard it is very good. We will see. (I just looked..145 calories per 8 oz.) That is with regular milk..you can use lowfat to cut calories. I am using fat free half and half and 1% milk, so it will be less I would imagine. I am not good at figuring calories....(obviously)

I rode 2 miles on my trusty bike. It was breezy and nice. My legs do not hurt too badly so I might do a little more this evening. DH won't want to walk since he is mowing the lawn. I am still pretty moody, a little depressed...I will be okay. Talked to all of the kids today and instead of making me happy it just made it worse...so I dunno what the heck I need.
I have not had a WI for a couple weeks..and don't plan to any time soon. I am just trying to get more exercise and less food..

Holy Cow Ya'All! Just tested my Blood Sugar and it is only 99! (Below 130 is normal) I usually run about 130ish - 140ish. So 99 is Awesome! I almost cried when I saw the number!

I even got a lunchable that I've had and took out the crackers and gave them to the birds and just ate the meat and cheese. But this one has cookies in it too. and since I took my blood sugar and it was so good I'm not gonna ruin it by eating those things! And boy howdy do I want to eat them but I know what they do to my blood sugar and I've been doing so good that I do not want to even go there.

I've been walking 1 mile EVERY DAY and not eating unhealthy carbs. I did get the nausea that I've heard about but it seems to have passed. I think its just finally committing to a healthy lifestyle.

Big to those who need it right now.

Sue - sun always perks me up. I usually stick to salads, I am not good at figuring calories either. I did have a whole cod fillet tonight w/ a pack of veggies. If it was a lot of cals , I don't want to know. I was 159 this morning. I can't believe I can't get it back to 155.....maybe it is the wine, not that I drink a lot....maybe 1 bottle in a month??? No, that isn't a question...haha, is IS a bottle a month. That can't' keep me from losing can it?? I doubt it. And if it does I guess I will be 159 for a while....haha.

Sassy - yay to your blood sugar count sounds like you are doing real good.

I am off to pick up a tootsie roll.
