Ok i admit that I have not read the book.....it's on hold for me at the library.
Greg and I started the diet yesterday, going by the approved food list and the recipes that you guys have posted here.
But my question is about carbs. I know that good carbs are allowed......but is there a limit to the carb grams that you can have in phase one? I made the Taco bake for dinner and the refried beans have 18g of carbs....and tonight is the white chicken chili ( I think that's what it's called) and the Northern Beans have 23g of carbs! Since the beans have so much fiber, and thats a carb, does that discount the carbs?
Relax! The fiber makes the carbs lwoer GI. And STOP counting carbs! That's the beauty of this plan - no counting, just eat from the list.
It might be an idea, however, to not have two meals with beans in the same day because of gas problems. The serving size for beans and other legumes is 1/2 cup according to the Good Fat, Good Carb Guide.
