Amy - Don't fret sister. I tend to weigh myself daily, as well, mostly because I'm certified OCD, but I find that it DOES help me figure out where I've gone wrong before I go wrong for 5 days in a row and majorly gain. Not getting 4.5 cups veggies, 1/2 cup beans, 8-10 cups of water, and eating foods that are high in sodium can all contribute to a slight gain. (Plus the ahem.... plumbing being backed up..... ask the girls about Bathroom Celebrations! )

Trust me, I know how it is not being able to talk to the man about it. Chris is 126 lbs soaking wet and can't gain weight to save his life. He eats whatever he wants and has no issues. He truly doesn't understand having to eat a certain way to be healthy because he's one of those miracles that not only doesn't gain weight, but his BP and cholesterol are fine, no blood sugar issues, nothing, even though all he eats is crap. MUST. BE. NICE.

You CAN do this. I know because if I can do it, anybody can. Believe it or not, pre-Christopher, I was 2 lbs under my goal-weight. Other girls on here have lost INCREDIBLE amounts and kept it off! You can do it. And we're here to help you when you need it, even if you just need to talk.

Default Up and At 'Em!

Good Morning

A late check in here….I stayed up last night and Kirk got up with me this morning which means no computer time. We looked at our schedule and have decided to head to our Western Slope home on Sunday afternoon. That means I'd better get my list in order.

Okie, thanks for getting us started. Great news that you've gotten enrolled in school.

Heidi, safe travels this evening!

Cyndi, see you later as you WFH!

tanner'smom, what a touching memorial. I'm a charity knitter and it's ok to cry. :willpower: for FAC. Make a plan and stick to it.

Karen, have a great workout!

sarahsk, your plan sounds great for football night. I always take my own stuff to events and it works great as long as I resolve to keep my hands and brain away from the off plan food.

Linda(cottagebythesea), having Jake take down the tree sounds like a great idea!

Lisa(litar) , hope the chiro fixes your neck/back. I went last week and feel lots better.

LadyWindsong, I hope you feel better later!

Ruth, I'm looking forward to my reports this year. Last year it was piecing together someone else's work and it was frustrating. Yay! for standing!

Lisa(Weezle), I'm doing fine on this lovely Friday. Thanks for asking. Oh, a family mystery…..Take care on those roads!

AmyKitKat, good for you recognizing that you have good support when you need to talk about your weight. Me, too. As to the scale, some folks weigh daily, others once a week. If you weigh daily, just remember that day to day you will see fluxuations due to water, sodium, what time you ate, etc, etc, etc….the list goes on. It's only a number in time. Congratulate yourself for making a commitment. ...and if you gained 25 pounds in 2 years it won't come off overnight. It's a process which requires staying OP and keeping your chin up.

Matilda(Mmckellen), ok, just do it this weekend. Remind yourself of your commitment and stick to it. There are always more weekends.

buskyandme, I see Linda answered your question.

Went and called the dentist and they took me in at 7:30.

They took an exray and he came in and gave me an inside out exam. I told him where it hurt and said that is one of the spots right where I got a shot and he said that I am having an anesthetic reaction to the 2 shots. Didn't see any infection but it HURTS! Sinus area is swollen and red, too! OUCH!
Gave me 2 prescriptions. Call if it gets worse and call Monday.
I feel relieved, but I am still hurting.

Making me a trout!

More in the morning when I am feeling up to par.

Chin up ladies, you can do this.
Good vibes to you all to get through the day.

Amy,

Yeah, the sodium will do it to you. I prefer to weigh in first thing in the morning, but hopefully after a bathroom celebration, if you know what I mean...

Drink more water today. It's what I plan on doing!

Oh, so a friend of mine's birthday is coming up, and she wants me to make some of my famous baked goods for her party... I don't mind doing that, but right now, I'm on P1 and thinking about recipes is like looking at food porn... I'm just not sure that this is a good idea. Maybe I'll just buy something from a nice bakery for her rather than having the temptation to lick the spoon in my kitchen (and snarf all of failed cupcakes). It'll also prevent me from fantasizing about cupcakes.

Thank you so much for the support ladies...it has helped me get back into more of a "fighting" state of mind rather than the pity-party I had going on this morning.
This WILL take time - the sooner I truly accept that, the better.
Thank you for all the suggestions!

Weezle; I LOVE your description of Chris
My DH, Jared, I think, just wants someone to be a party to his terrible eating (though he weighs A LOT more than 126 lbs!) I try and be grateful for having someone who likes me the way I am, but it sometimes gets in the way of being the best person I can be!

Hello, just getting around to posting.

Busy weekend, I have to come in to work on Sunday for a couple of hours but it shouldn't be too bad.

I have a nsv- today at work was jeans day so I got to put on my jeans that a week ago were a heck of a lot tighter, no yanking required to pull them up and no sucking in to button them up. I so hope the scale is as nice on Sunday morning. I can use it mentally

For those visiting the dentist- my dd2 has lost both of her front teeth but her mouth is a bit small so they are going to have to remove two more front teeth in order for her grownup teeth to come down straight. She is going to look completely toothless

Have a great weekend everyone.

Another day staying on South Beach... YEA ME!

My SO is such the gourmet cook; I think this diet is going to hurt him more than me. I have told him to eat whatever he wants, it doesn't bother me. But for him, not having someone to cook for is pure torture. The question about the lemon juice was because he wants to make one of my favorite dishes, chicken piccata. Already he is going on that a tablespoon of flour won't hurt... and he WON'T thicken the sauce with butter until he has plated mine. HELP! Tomorrow he is baking french baguettes. What's a girl to do?

I have given him the list and said that if he can make it fit in the plan I will eat it. I saw him with charts earlier... this could be interesting!

Hey everyone! I had the day off today, but went in for an hour to see a friend who came to visit. She moved a couple months ago, so she came to work to see everyone. After that I worked out. Now I'm just hanging out at home. I hate to say it, but I'm so craving a beer!

Instead of the SB flu, I've contracted a real flu. That's what happens when patients sneeze in your mouth! A word from your friendly neighbourhood med student: Cover your coughs & sneezes!

Today marks the end of week 1 of phase 1!

This forum, its recipes, and most of all it's members are the reason I've made it this far! Looking forward to sticking to the plan with all you wonderful ladies!

Good evening friends . Gosh, I'm really late in posting today but at least I'm here now.

Okie, Did you change your mind about moving out here to California? I was looking forward to having another beacher on the west coast.

Sara, hope you were able to stay strong tonight.

WT, retired husbands do tend to get in the way sometimes, don't they Luckily mine does some volunteer work at the sheriff's department so that helps get him out and about.

Tanner'smom, What a special thing to do. Hope the kids are old enough to appreciate the significance of what is happening.

All the talk about dentist appts made me call to re-schedule an appt for cleaning that I cancelled in November but the office was closed so will have to call again on Monday. I don't like going either but don't like the problems that arise if I don't go.

Another bright sunny day for us out here in California ... or at least our area. Just down the road a bit I believe they are again fogged in. Thank goodness we live in a location that is normally above the fog and below the snow. Yea for foothills!

Got all of our Christmas decorations packed and hauled out to the storage shed for another year. What a good feeling. I did, however, keep some wrapping paper in the house because I did pick up a few after Christmas sale items that I need to wrap and stash for next year. I always feel so good when I find them just before Christmas and it gives me a head start on shopping during that time.

Had a scare with our dog Wednesday that thank goodness wasn't too serious or at least we hope so. He apparently hurt his back or neck and would cry out in pain. So now he is on pain and anti-inflamatory meds and complete rest. This afternoon, he is definitely showing signs of improvement.

Well better late than never. It is so good reading all of your posts from earlier in the day. Look forward to "seeing" you tomorrow.
