Hey Mel, I hear ya about city life. Clareh, not sure if you're jealous of my bike rides but please don't be. The river trail that hubby and I usually ride on is along the Santa Ana River which goes through an extremely population-dense urban part of OC. Some of the river is cemented and the scenery is, uh, wild, but not natural wild. Most of it is nice, but it's definitely a "city" trail.

Today I worked out for an hour: 20 minutes of weights for back and biceps; 20 minutes on the treadmill; 20 minutes on the elliptical.

Hope everyone has a great day. It's raining here again today, but I don't mind and we need the water.

Sherry- I was a bit jealous of your bike rides. I have friends in LA (Hollywood) so I know the Californian lifestyle isn't just beaches! (Only on the TV!)

I've just been for the 6 mile walk (4 degrees so blew some cobwebs away) I'm going to be introducing a weights workout before work on a Tuesday so watch this space.....

Have a fantastic day everyone- mine's nearly over but I know yours are just starting in the States.

Planned rest day today (love it!)

Not sure what has happened over the last 2 days but have been totally off plan (had a starbucks muffin AND an iced bun today) Somethong to do with TOM, maybe..

Spinning in the morning then a 6 mile walk after work so hopefully that'll blast the evil sugar demons out.

Mel- am confused by your avatar??? It's not snowing in NJ surely?

Today did a 50-minute leg workout with exercises to target quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. I lightened up on the weight because I was having a lot of trouble walking for up to 2-3 days afterwards so I'll see if my change helps. No cardio today due to the intense weight workout.

Good morning all! Can't believe I'm the first one here this morning, being on the west coast and "behind" just about everyone else who posts here.

Legs doing okay this morning but tomorrow will be the true test. Today did a 20-minute workout for abs and lower back followed by 25 minutes on the treadmill and 25 minutes on the elliptical.

Hope everyone has a terrific day!

Edited because I actually did 25 minutes on each machine, not 20.

Sherry- first one in and last one out! Fantastic workout- my weights start Tuesday

Mel- freaky weather, eh! It's cold here but no snow.

45 mins spinning class this morning. Cancelled my walking session as I've been feeling tired and out of sorts all day. I don't think I've had enought to eat so am having some healthy veggies for tea.

Have a great day

Edited my post above because I realized I did a 50-minute cardio workout today.

Mel, crazy weather for spring! We are dry and cloudy today but expect more rain this weekend. Hmm, really want to go for an outdoor bike ride and hope the rain doesn't intefere with that. All this cold rain is a bit unusual for us.

Clareh, probably good that you cancelled your walk. I always tend to overdo it with cardio and when I do, I get sick. Eat lots of veggies and take care of yourself. You are getting very close to your marathon!

Default Spin Class

Clareh, and all you chicks who do the spin class, you must of powerful lungs, great legs, and padded shorts!

I just did my first spin class this morning and I thought I was going to die. The instructor came over towards the end of the class and cranked up the resistance on my bike and started coaching me. "You can do it, you can make it to the top of that hill, you go girl."

I really wanted to hurt her! But of course I didn't, and I will go back. She is really a great teacher.

I wonder when my hinny will stop aching.

Cate
