Good Morning Chicks! The week is flying and I'm retired. It's only supposed to do that for the working folk, isn't it?

I had my appointment with the Internist on Monday. I'm off to a Nephrologist...aka kidney specialist. Trying not to worry about it since I can't control it anyway. It's a big deal to get an appointment as she gathers any tests or blood work that has been done on my kidneys. That makes me feel good.

I lost 1.2 on Monday and was quite happy with that. I'd love to hit 40 next Monday but I have a hard way to go between today and Saturday night. We are going out for our normal dinner this week, then a meal out tomorrow when Jim goes to the dermatologist, and then a third meal out on Saturday to celebrate my BIL's 70th birthday. I could give up the 2 voluntary meals out but they are special to us so I'm going to go and try to eat/order tiny portions. Wish me luck.

In the meantime, I've stuck to the 1500 calories on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I exercised on Tuesday and Wednesday and intend to exercise the rest of the days this week. Wouldn't be exciting if I still lost weight? A girl can dream.

What's up with all of you this week? I'm off to read.

Did I mention how hungry I am on 1500 calories? I think it's too low but this week is special.

I can't believe we are only on page 1 and it's Thursday. Must be because Sandra is working and Mary Ann is taking care of Leo.

Welcome, Mamaduck! We are a VERY nice group of ladies here. You won't find better support anywhere. I've been here since the Fall of 2004 when Core was first launched. I'm no where near my goal but it's NOT the plan's fault. Good luck to you.

Sandra, I'm soooo sorry to hear of the loss of your Cousin. I hope that he had a great life.

Sloan, it's so nice that you had a great time with your family and got to spend time with DD too. I know you are really enjoying all of the fruits of your remodeling labors. It's so nice when it all works out like that. We love pictures.... ;-).

Rhonda, so what did the scales say? We are all dying to hear. How exciting that you are going to TX Friday. I know Doyle will be very happy to see you! And...what have I missed? Who or what is Duncan? Sounds like a name for my next Scottie.

Thank you all for encouraging me to talk honestly with my Counselor. It is already making a great difference in my week. I told her that I didn't realize how important her opinion was to me and that I felt as if she had written me off last week. She actually looked shocked...maybe because I had the gumption to say it to her. She spent a lot of time with me and we worked it out. At least for now anyway.

We seem to have lost Paula now too. I miss her and Coco and Donna. Hey Sandra, do you ever hear from Melissa? I meant to look for her on Facebook. I think I'll go look for her now. I mean AFTER I get off the treadmill that is!

Hi Ladies

Sorry for being MIA this week, but its impossible to post when you got a sick DH on your hands. He went to our reg doctor this morning and he told us the cancer is as bad as they thought, but as far a the blood clots he has to start moving around, which he doesn't. Its like pulling horses teeth to get him to move. The doctor is going to give him a pink pill to coat this stomach so he can start eating again.

Now for me, I doing OK taking care of Leo but I do take time out for myself also. Between the ordeal in the hospital and now I just gained + 1.2,so that's not bad. I told me doctor this and he agrees saying you had more things to worry about than your weight and it took care of itself.

That's all for now I have to have dinner,as I had a blood test and had to fast this morning. Plus a nurse is coming to the house at 1 PM. Will come back tomorrow and read your post and see what your guys are up to.

Hugs

Here is where we are going tomorrow. I've been staring and staring at the menu and cannot decide what to order. SO much looks SO good and I want a bite of it all.

Any suggestions? I know the salads are probably best but it isn't really what I want.

Vickie: I'm having the Eggs Benedict! I lost only one pound it seems, but what a pound that was! My body is really reshaping: all my tops are too big now.

Who's Duncan? He's a sweet little boy who comes the daycare my friend runs. He and I have a special connection.

Maryann: oh my, do stay strong and take care of yourself.

Rhonda, you're right. It was about 50* higher than 0 last night--but I'm loving this cool weather.

FYI--I'm an Agricultural Science teacher tomorrow. Hope it's movie time.

Vickie, here are for good reports and weightloss. You're doing so well. I am so happy for you. You'll do all right eating out. You are armed with knowledge and strategies. Now go have fun.

Vickie, Melissa is on FB. I visit with her occasionally, but I miss having her here with us. I miss our other absent Chickies, too. Wish they'd come back.

Maryann, :hugs: I can't imagine the stress you're under. You and Leo are in my prayers.

Vickie, can you order off the kid's menu? I don't see anything about age restrictions. Or what about a cup of soup and 1/2 a sandwich? Or salad and 1/2 sandwich? I read somewhere that we are to make the best choice from what we would enjoy. Does that make sense? Make a choice will keep you satisfied and happy.

Rhonda, on your tops being loose. When are you buying new clothes? I remember your capris were baggy when you were here time before last. Get you some smaller duds, Cuz.

I'm trying to stay close to core, but it's been really hard for me lately. I did manage to stay away from the doughnuts at a meeting this morning, so that's good.

Rhonda, I'm with Sandra, get some new clothes! Something fitting and sexy for when Doyle first sets eyes on you! Ooohh la la!!!

Sandra, I'm glad you are enjoying the cool weather. Have you had a fire in your fire pit, yet? We used ours again the other night, and we are really enjoying it.

Vickie, congrats on the loss! You are really doing well! I agree about choosing something that you enjoy when you go out to eat. What about ordering a "to go" box when your food is delivered and cutting the portions in half before you start eating?

Maryann, I'm still prayin'. Tell Leo he had lots of prayers going up every day! Don't forget we are praying for you, too!

GTG visit with my family. Have a good night chicks!

Good idea about the clothes! I've given away just about 3/4 of my clothes anyway!

OK, I'm out of here at 4:45AM to get to the airport...talk to you tomorrow night or soon thereafter.

Vickie, have fun whatever you eat!

Rhonda

Sloan, we prob won't use our firepit very much. We're sort of "stay inside and warm" type folks. Enjoy yours for us, too.

Rhonda, have a good time. Enjoy every minute.

Hey all..
My aunt had surgery today to repair an injured shoulder and wrist.
She did great and I hope it heals fast. She isn't in the best of health
overall. I did not make great food choices today at the hospital...
but probably still within my wpa's.
My senior has senioritis and it is only Oct.. I hope he can keep his grades
up this year.
I went to our state fair with my DH,DS and grandson Monday.
My favorite food is the roasted corn so I almost stayed on core
(almost).. My hubby used to stress at the fair (no fun) but now he
has learned to mellow and enjoy which I love because I look forward
to it every year.

Vickie, how did eating out go for you?

Nancy, I like fairs, too. We used to go in Montana but we shy away from the traffic here in Texas.

Ohhhhhh....hello Chicks! I'm so darned proud of myself I could POP. I had a half orchard salad, dressing on the side and a half sandwich. I ate it all but was just satisfied and not over full. I think I did well in a place where I could have eaten about 1,000 calories if I hadn't been careful. We just walked back in the door after leaving at 12:30 this afternoon. The traffic was horrible since it's been raining here steady since yesterday.

Jim got two skin marks frozen off and the all clear on the other thing we were worried about. He's heaving a big sigh of relief. He's still worried about yet another spot that the Doc said was nothing. We are just going to keep an eye on it. Now I have to make my appointment since I've never seen a dermatologist either.

One more hurdle tomorrow night. I'm sure I can at least eat Core at the steak place. I'll just have to be careful with my portions.

I didn't get enough sleep so I'm off to the couch now. I hope you are all well.

Vickie! send some of that will power my way. I've been doing very well during the day, but at night "not so much". You will do great at the steak place. I'm very proud of you!!

Nancy, my DH and I met on a blind date to the Tennessee State Fair when I was 15 years old!

Chicks, I have a prayer request. My DD has realized that her DBF is not the person she thought he was, and she has decided to move out of the house that she shares with him and two other friends. She confided in me tonight that she is scared that he will try to keep her from leaving! She has already leased an apartment next to her campus and can move in on Sunday. She plans to have a girl friend over tomorrow night, and while her DBF is asleep, she and the girl are going to put her things in the car (she has the only room downstairs with a door to the driveway where she parks) and leave. I have instructed her to leave her furniture and just get out. She does not want me and my DH to come because she is afraid it will cause more problems. Please pray for her safety, and for him to remain calm. I feel comfortable that she has many friends to lean on, but a mother just wants to "be there" for her child. I'll let you all know what is going on on Sunday. Thanks in advance for praying!

I'm going to bed!
