I read that taking a fiber supplement (like metamucil) before your meals will aid in weight loss? Is this true, and if so is it acceptable for phase one?
Certainly it's acceptable. Do you have the book? Dr. A, mentions it in there on page 55. He says you should take a spoonfull with a glass of water 15 minutes before eating.
Make sure you use the Sugar Free Metamucil. I use it with breakfast now that I am in phase 2 but in phase 1, I needed it more often to help prevent constipation.
